this was in 2010 only months before Election day
Patrick, elected in Massachusetts back in 2006, faired the worst among those measured, with a 22% approval rating. A solid majority, 59% of Bay Staters, disapproved of Patrick’s job performance.

In addition, he chose to call Massachusetts home. Did you?
Actually, he hasn't. He claimed Utah as his primary residence in 1999 - 2000. It was an issue when he was running for Governor since MA requires you to be a resident for the previous consecutive 7 years to run for Gov. He changed his tax status AFTER in order to run for Gov.

He sold his home in MA in 2009 but used his son's basement address as his 'home' in order to vote in the special election for Scott Brown in the special election for the senate seat vacated by Ted Kennedy. He owns homes in CA and NH. I believe he does own another home in MA now after the controversy over whether or not he was actually eligible to vote in the senate election.

So yes, I have lived in MA longer than Mitt has if you add up our years of residency. I choose to live in MA every day.

I have a few friends that live there and I'm basing my assertion off of them. I've even heard from some people that he is popular with the GOP in some circles. Now...I don't know how true that is but I've heard it from multiple sources so I think it has a little credibility.

Here is the question:
Do you think Julian Castro, if the Democratic nominee in 2016, would carry Texas?

I don't understand why are you so insistant on comparing a mayor with a governor, you do know the difference don't you

This thread is turning into a sidetrack from it's intent.

The OP made the assertion that Romney polling poorly in Mass is in someway indicative of him being god awful or whatever.

I however had the question to the OP that has remained unanswered. Maybe one of you other liberals can answer this.

Do you think Julian Castro (the uber popular democratic mayor of san antonio and rising star of the dnc) would carry Texas if he got the 2016 democratic nod to be the front runner.

Is'nt there a term for people like that? Was it called "carpetbagging"?

If the answer is no........bajanyankees thread is thoroughly fisted.............w/o lube.

But yet you ignored the follow up tp that one. Why are you comparing a mayor to a governor? A mayor in Beaver Falls Pa would be totally ignored if he ran in Philadelphia.

I'm comparing a mayor to a governor because this mayor is extremely popular and has floated a potential run in 2016.

Would he carry Texas?

Answer the question.
