That's interesting.

There is a trend in Montana where people are starting to vote Democratic (formerly GOP voters) but they describe themselves as "Conservationists".

Mainly people who love the outdoors and resent unrestrained development like how Romney wants.

Coloradans can kiss their scenic outdoors goodbye if the GOP gets their way for the next few Decades.

The locals wouldn't stand for it:

Heavy on hyperbole. Light on anything even closely resembling reality.

Jobs > Environment is the Republican mantra.

Anything environmentally friendly is always toxic to the right wing. I bet we would very hard pressed to find even one environmental protection issue that they endorse. These days if an issue does not favor a Plutocrat, it's just not worth advocating for.

Same thing is happening all over the West. In Arizona, Jeff Flake is running for Senate and he wants to allow companies to mine for uranium at the Grand Canyon. Who in their right mind could support that?

Why shouldn't jobs trump the environment? The United States is not in a state of peril in regards to the environment. However, the United States IS in a state of peril regarding jobs. I'm not sure what would drive you think differently? Perhaps you can explain.

AT the Grand Canyon or IN the Grand Canyon? That's a pretty broad statement and a pretty broad swath of land. Are you sure you haven't been duped by semantics and misleading TV ads?

I think it is pretty self explanatory. A cleaner environment can produce jobs, I am sure you don't believe that.
