Ken Burns: Why I am voting for Barack Obama | New Hampshire OPINION02

Quote:
As the Republican Party ignored [Obama's] gestures of compromise and bipartisanship, they also moved further and further to the right, the furthest right they have ever been since the party was founded in 1856. Further right than the days of President Ronald Reagan, who in his second inaugural address in 1985 said, “Our two-party system has served us well over the years, but never better than in those times of great challenge when we came together not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans united in a common cause.” How different, that attitude, from the Republican position of the last three years, which has taken the very process that forged our Constitution and created this great country — compromise — and tried to turn it into a dirty word.

Among the hundreds of endorsements for one or the other candidate this year, Ken Burns' is not likely to be the decisive moment in this campaign, but it might well have a measurable effect in his home of New Hampshire.

Scared? No. You should be embarrassed and disgusted for the party that you are supporting. Did you even bother to read what Burns wrote?

What is frightening is that this nation is quickly becoming a Plutocracy and another GOP administration will accelerate the process.

I am embarrassed and quite disgusted for the current administration in that has lost respect for the USA in the world because of 0bama while doing a bad number for most of us Americans.

Nobody is perfect, but we cannot stay the course we've been on the past almost 4 years.

How much of the world have you surveyed? A link to your study would be most appreciated.

You are revealing your ignorance and avoiding the facts. If you read what Burns wrote in the article and are able to comprehend it, it is the GOP that has perpetrated planned obstruction at the peril of the nation as whole, for self-serving political gains. In simple terms...they were and are "the wrench in the works". It is amazing that Obama has been able to get this country to the point where 41 of 50 states have reported growth in earnings, the deficit is down by three billion, unemployment is down, Wall Street is up, housing sales are up and consumer confidence is on the rise. Tell me something...how is that bad and how much better would it have been if the do nothing obstructionist GOP Congress would have not taken an oath to a lobbyist and not conspired to make Obama a one term POTUS?

Your post merely contains right wing talking points which is a common affliction amongst people that rely soley upon right wing propaganda for infomation.

Who needs Ken Burns when we have Dinesh D'Souza to tell us the "truth"?

Could be that he is a PBS guy, but that's just conjecture.
