College students are low-information?
Some young people are the most high-information voters around.
They are as educated as to what they are exposed to! Most college kids are not into everyday world events or politics they are busy going to classes/studying and being young
It would explain the uptight & repressed nature of so many Republicans, though... if you truly find sex to be a repulsive act, it makes sense you'd be so offended by the mere mention of it!
Bwaahaahaahaahaa
Spin it all you want to the video is disgusting
Good for you for not being too embarrassed to tell everyone you have a terrible sex life.
Bravo.
The classic spin and point your finger to anyone but Obama. It was a funny joke and one that Obama should have expected to be fired back at him with this distasteful ad.
It's hard to be leave all this bashing /trashing about women , when the remarks from so many right wing screwballs insults every woman in the country. This low life talk by so many is what everyone should be talking about., not some stupid TV ad.Encouraging Rape is the worst thing I have ever heard come out of the mouths of these elected religious nuts. It is clear that the Republican Party wants to go back to denying women to vote.( about what they want women to not be in control of their own bodied ! Disgusting!!)
Well, yeah.
And it is pretty clear that this ad threatens them in all kinds of ways.
The fact that it plays on a woman actually choosing when and with whom to "interact" is just so...nervy.
How dare she make these decisions herself?
I think that it is pretty clever. And, the fact that it has riled up so many of the cretins on the other side tells me that it is pretty effective at getting its point across: "It is MY choice and I WILL exercise it."
You think its pathetic when parents introduce their children to the privileges of citizenship. Didn't your school at least hold mock elections for the presidential race? Boy, I feel sorry for you if you don't get some sort of excitement out of her first voting experience. Sad really.
Both men and women do have sex as in "you did IT wrong."
Why do you assume that "knowing it all" is what would make a first time special. Your very premise is implausible actually. First time implies novice. And if you actually take the time to read my post, you'll see that I talked about "feelings" not technique.
Next?
It is just me, or has this topic made some people all kinds of defensive?
What is up with that?
Sad? What is sad is that you think there is nothing more to life than politics and voting. It's a natural right if you're a citizen in this country, and if you've gotten over what amped you up as a teenager, have a job, a few kids...there are MANY more highlights in ones life that overtake whatever super-excitement a child felt (whose brain was not fully developed) when tying one's own shoes, learning to read, casting that first vote or driving for the first time or having that first drink in a bar at 21.
"Do Sex? Who are you? Deena from Jersey Shore? I guess you're right, everyone should be a porn star or with a porn star, for their first time. To make sure "it" didn't "feel" or was "done wrong".
You spin everything.
My premise? Read you own posts. You're the one who talked about "did it wrong". You are doing the helenjen dance - you're never wrong, are you?
That should be the title of your book "Next?" Just so the first time "feeling" remains the same every time.
Why are you posting in this thread? And why so nasty?
I think it's fabulous. It's hard not to respect Lena Dunham - at 23 she wrote, directed, and starred in her first feature film that won all kinds of awards and now at 26, she is the creator, director, writer, executive producer, and star of a very successful HBO show that earned her 4 Emmy nominations. She is more successful and talented than most people will be in their entire lives - and she has only just started hers. And she's done it while not being conventionally attractive in an industry where top billing women tend to be bombshells.
The video isn't creepy - it's creative and it works. After all, it made you take notice, right?
As far as her last name, Dunham is one of the most common last names in the US. I know quite a few - none with the slightest relation to Barack Obama. Keep stretching.
Indeed.
Not surprising that they find her so threatening.
