New poll shows Romney, Obama appear tied in Ohio | Fox News

Romney has a good chance in a crucial state!

Quote:
A late surge by Mitt Romney has made the contest between him and President Obama to win Ohio too close to call, according to a poll released Sunday.

Romney and Obama appear tied at 49 percent among likely voters, according to an Ohio News Organization poll. The margin of error in the poll is 3.1 percentage points.

The biggest movement since the group’s poll in September is Romney's lead with male voters -- from 1 percentage point to 12 points.

The president held 51 percent of the vote in the September poll.

“Momentum is on our side,” Ohio Republican Sen. Rob Portman said on “Fox News Sunday.” “Energy and enthusiasm is on our side.”

Portman, who played Obama in Romney’s debate practices, said the margin has closed since the first date, on Oct. 3, which most people say Romney decisively won.

Stephanie Cutter, Obama deputy campaign manager, said downplayed the poll findings.

"That's just one poll," she said on ABC's "This Week." "We feel pretty good about Ohio and think we're going to win it."

With 27 electoral votes, Ohio is considered the most crucial of battleground states. And both candidates are flooding the airwaves there with ads and are campaigning furiously.

Romney’s support also grew among high school and college graduates, according to the poll.

The poll essentially reinforces findings in other, recent polls that show the race is extremely close.

An Oct. 23, Rasmussen poll showed the candidates tied at 48 percent. And a CNN poll released Friday showed 50 percent of likely Ohio voters for Obama.

An averaging of polls Sunday by the website RealClearPolitics has Obama leading by 1.9 percent.

The Ohio newspaper poll used landlines and cellphones to reach 1,015 likely voters across the state from Oct. 18 through 23

When Romney easily wins Ohio, some liberal heads will explode. The same thing is going to happen in most "swing" states.

This poll is old. It was conducted Oct 18-23 with only one day of the polling being after the third debate. It was just late in being published which is why we are only hearing about it now.

Three more Ohio polls have come out which were conducted Oct 23-25, all being after the third debate, those polls have Obama up +2, +2, and +4.

Ohio born and bred here.

"Hope and Change" didn't come to the Buckeye state over the past four years.

You know Obama is in trouble when blue collar auto workers have Romney/Ryan signs in their yards, not to mention the thousands upon thousands of conservative, religious farm folks, the scrappy coal miners who see their livelihoods slipping away with another four years of Obama's "hope and change", and the balance of people who "cling to their guns and their religion", as Obama said so condescendingly. Mr. Obama, there are a LOT of "guns and religion" people in the great state of Ohio.

Buh-bye.

And now the newest poll shows Obama up by four.

It's pointless to pick just one poll when the state is being polled constantly. Look at the average. Obama's usually up in Ohio, and is never worse than tied. Price on Intrade is up to the high 60s.

You better brace yourself, because your state is poised to hand Obama another 4 years. If you give yourself time to realize that hopefully it won't be as shocking.

And there are 11 other polls that show Obama with a 3 to 5 point lead. There are 4 that show Romney with a smaller lead, or tied.

We'll know for sure on 11/7, but honetly, the odds are still in Obama's failure looking simply at the numbers.

Ohio is in the Obama bag, as is Nevada. NH is very close to a done deal for Obama as well. Romney is out of aces and out of time.
