One of the reason for a solid Black turnout was attempted voter suppression and the fact the the president could possibly be electing supreme court replacement and the idea that Mittens could possibly be elected without proven policies of improving the economy made Blacks think of Bush and scared the heck out of us and we ran to the polls.
yeah it was real edge of my seat stuff. By the time they were showing the tallying in FL as close as it was, anyone paying attention knew Obama was going to win.
Here's the big mistake that Dick Morris and the rest of you make. It doesn't matter what race the candidate is in terms of carrying the minority vote, but it does matter how they stand on issues that are important to those groups. Until the R party understands that part, they will continue to lose. For example, you can't propose giant electric immigrant zapper fences, and then expect to win the Hispanic vote. You can't say that all African Americans are on welfare, and they're only voting for Obama to keep it, and then expect the black middle and professional class to vote for you. Get a clue.
Amen, it takes more than simply putting an minority on the team to get the vote. The party must appear to atleast be concerned about thoose groups and offer solutions that help(or atleast don't run over) these groups.
Guess "landslide" only applies when the winner is a Republican!
haha basically. I think the only difference between this election and the 2008 election is that it wasnt decided as soon as the polls closed on the west coast like it was in 2008. I had to wait another hour
This was NOT Morris' fault. How was he to realize the map he was looking at was drawn so long ago? Didn't you here him ask the Fox staff "When did they add those other 37 states? When did women get the vote? Minorities, too? Even in the Southern states?"
So go easy on him. He was only off if one uses a map drawn within the last 200 years.

Anyone reading the polls correctly knew all along Mitt had no chance. There was just no way he could win enough of the swing states to pull it off. I thought the Huff post electoral vote day by day was extremely well done and very accurate. Just after the GOP convention Mitt edged up into an almost win position but that only lasted a matter of days before he was way down again. He inched up after the first debate but that only lasted till the 2nd debate at which time he lost more than he had gained in the first. It was downhill all the way from there. By the time the hurricane hit and the people realized Mitt would cancel FEMA it was OVER. Then Christie all cozy with the president and ignoring Mitt, THE WRITING WAS ON THE WALL!
The spittle-spewing right wing Obama-haters will continue to listen to Morris, Rasmussen, Fox News and the rest of those bozos who were so far off from reality because these are the outlets that feed their need for anger, fear, and hatred.
