Ah, not just a Republican but a former Palin voter! Yes, I can see how she might seem more "attractive"... if you're into pigs and lipstick.

How did nominating the T.V. pretty candidate work for the Republicans?

They have lots of throwaway possibilities waiting for their turn.

Santorum
Perry
Bachmann
Pawlenty
Huntsman
Gingrich

And more sad sacks who think of themselves as presidential material.

But no one who looks viable at this point.

Just yesterday, Hillary Clinton announced one more time that she was retiring.
A super Pac does not need a person's endorsement or consent to form.

Hillary could decide to run again, or not. Either way, forming her super Pac is good for the Democrats; if she decides to make a run, she will have some funds, and if not, she can help out those she supports. Her endorsements in 2016 will certainly be important.

other than Santorum, I doubt a one of them will even attempt to run and none will get past 1st base. We have too many good perspective fresh faces to choose from the next time around.

She did say yesterday, she has no intentions of running but that is now. Who knows in another year or so how she will feel about being out of politics. If she was the candidate and the election was today, she would be hard to beat, by 2016 it might very well be a different story and she still may have to do some answering regarding her health...

Right on, nita.
I won't ever say ever about Hillary Clinton. Given a couple of years of rest, she may well decide to give another try at the White House a shot. For sure, she's got the favorability right now, just as she had in 2007 when she seemed to be a shoo-in.
It's impossible, I think, to predict how the electorate will swing at this time. The last 2 elections saw candidates who bucked the odds become their party nominees, and saw a lot of assumptions dashed. I doubt very much that the Republicans are going to undergo another replay of their former next-in-line ways, or are going to be very interested in any of the primary candidates who washed out before the convention. I believe the party is searching for fresh faces.

At the same time, the dark horse of 2008 proved to be a strong horse, and the Democrats may be more interested in another dark horse once more than any of the possibles who have long records in Congress or as Governors. Fresh faces worked twice, so they may want to stick with what won in '08 and 12.

I think that right now, it is still far too early to predict anything or anyone with any certainty. By this time next year, we may have a developing picture, but even then, it still may be to early to predict.

One way or another, a lot of important stuff is going to be dealt with this year. How it all lands will determine how much of the next election's issues and positions will be the big ones of 2016.

hilary will never get elected at all if she does not come clean about benghazi. if she claims her concussion limits her ability to remember that event, then she will never get elected as potus, as nobody will ever want a president in office who cannot remember what they did in their immediate past.

As if the presidential election has ever been a beauty contest.

Better snap out of it, MUT- the last Republican beauty queen helped put the Republican party into a ground loop, and there is still a lot of wreckage that needs to be cleaned up before the conservatives will ever stand a chance of winning again for a long time to come.

It ain't the wrapper that's the important thing, buddy. It's what is inside the wrapper that counts.
