If Hillary wasn't running, do you think Biden would be higher up in the "standings"?

(I can only hope that if a Dem does win, he or she will have the sense to make Biden either Secretary of State or VP)

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Joe Biden wins Iowa. The nature in which the Iowa Democratic caucuses are set up and adminsitered via complicated 2nd and 3rd choice rules makes it possible for little-known candidates to win.

I've like Joe Biden ever since he got his hair weave.

And I've felt compassion for him since John Roberts ripped him a new one, with a big old grin on his face, during Roberts' confrmation hearing.

I like Biden too and have more respect for him than I do for most politicians. He has more real experience and knowledge than almost anyone running...maybe more than anyone...and I truly do not understand why he isn't doing better. I think the media just picks those they think will be the "hottest story" and no one else gets any press.

Here's one reason some don't trust him...

I'm beginning to root for Biden also. I've just researched these caucus rules and they really are complicated. These rules are what allowed Kerry who was in third place to win in '04.

Biden has close members of the family in the military so he speaks with a lot of passion on military issues (like Iraq).

Yes, having someone close to you serving in the military would influence perspective. His personal history is sad having lost both wife and child in an automobile accident. He joins Edwards and Thompson both also having lost children.

I think Biden would at least make a great VP. He understands foreign policy and would be a great ambassador for our country.

joe biden likes joe biden, seriously I also think if I had to vote for one of the dems it would have to be Biden. although its pretty scary when he says he wants farmers and such to be appointed to the supreme court!

I absolutely love Biden.

I only wish he had the cash to send Hillary flying off into the sunset on her broom. Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to get stuck with her. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer her over any Republican at this point, but I would much rather have Biden.

It's about time we had someone who shoots from the hip, and actually does what he says he's going to do.
