Anyone watch the debate last night on MSNBC? They really ganged up on Hillary. John Edwards was especially outspoken and aggressive in regards to her waffling on this issues. Dowd essentially said that she was unelectable.

Even moderator Tim Russert seem to enjoy playing devils advocate and seemed to be trying to stir things up.

Also, Hillary stated that in her view it made sense to give illegal aliens drivers license. Is this really who people want for their democratic rep?

Edwards had his best night so far, hands down. Obama made some good points and better distinguished himself but was still way too flat and monotone. Hillary, for once looked like a deer in the headlights as she was pummeled from all sides.

I went reading some of the live blogs last night after the debate and saw a great many of Hillary fans complaining about how she was beat up. I have to wonder, why should people be asking tough questions from every angle as this woman has been sitting in the cat bird seat nearly unchallenged. The biggest thing I see is that people are turned off by Hillary's "non answers" to questions where she hemhaws around the issue giving 30 second stump speeches instead of directly answering the question with a concise answer.

Runner up in the democratic debates had to be Ron Paul, yes you heard right. Why you ask, well if anyone happened to watch the post debate, which are often better than the debate themselves, look in the background. Ron Paul signs and supporters were everywhere chanting support. I had to chuckle thinking of how this must really baffle all the other various candidates and how they must be salivating over such committed base of supporters at the oppositions debates! Hilarious!

I still see her as the very probable nominee, and debates like this help her prepare for the general election.

Speak up Paul to your heart's content. I would make you a major bet that as his comprehensive points of view would become more publicized, he would pick up barely any support from Democratic Party voters.

You assume the majority of democrats in the party are liberals. How silly of you.

Ron Paul has common sense ideas that do not flow with either the democrat or republican tickets. He is on a different level than both parties, and I wouldn't even call him a republican. His ideas are annoying to some, admirable by others, from both sides. Liberals will not vote for him, conservative republicans despise and ridicule him. Those in the middle who are sick of the same bull**** are looking for change, Ron Paul is that answer.

I didn't get to see the debate, but I wish I had. I don't have anything against Hillary, but I did not know she was pro awarding illegal activity. It does not make good since to me to allow illegal aliens the right to drive in the U.S. and if that is her position I disagree with her, but the Democrats will have to choose someone. After watching the debate who do u think it will be?

Actually, her response on the issue was sort of doubletalk. It's pretty much the same sort of cognitive dissonance that a lot of us have on the issue of illegal immigration.

She said she understood governor Spitzer's plan, and that it "made sense." She didn't say she SUPPORTED IT. She then said we need comprehensive immigration reform, and that Bush had failed us in immigration reform. The rationale sort of does make sense, of course, in terms of wanting to know who is in the state.

But as far as NY is concerned, everyone knows that most illegals are probably not going to be lining up to get the special illegal immigrant version of drivers licenses that New York is going to be issuing, since it basically advertises to the world that you're illegal......

I know, I've read this sentiment before. Fortunately, we have elections, so the voter sentiment will soon be known.

I feel comfortable with the accuracy of my statement, and believe the specific positions he espouses will not play at all with the vast majority (for giggles, let's say 95%) of the traditional Democratic Party voters.

But I do think these debates help toughen up Hillary for the main election.
