Executive orders, by President [for President Obama, thru 01/20/2014]
President Obama: 168 (33.6/year)
President GW Bush: 291 (36.4/year)
President Clinton: 364 (45.5/year)
President GHW Bush: 166 (41.5/year)
President Reagan: 381 (47.6/year)
That's right. Look at which President has issued the lowest number of Executive Orders per year. President Obama.
I won't break down all the Presidents, but anyone can click in the link I provided above - the last President to issue fewer Executive Orders per year than President Obama was President Cleveland, who served two non-consecutive terms (and, thus, was technically two Presidents - the 22nd and the 24th). Anyway, during his second Presidency he issued slightly more Executive Orders per year than President Obama, but during his first Presidency he issued fewer per year than President Obama (as he also did overall, slightly, for the full eight years of his two Presidencies).
President Cleveland's last Presidency ended in 1897.
That's right. The 19 Presidents before Obama used the Executive Order more frequently than he has.
But the lunatics, safely ensconced in the Fox News world of make-believe, are comfortably immune to things like, you know, reality.
SocialistAtheist, of course you would agree with the dictator.
Didn't he explicitly say that he disagrees with Obama on several points?
See, this is the issue with politics-we think that someone agreeing with even one viewpoint of our own political opposition instantly makes them part of that group. We let any disagreements become villified; we become opposed to any and all dissent. That's very dangerous.

he's making a pretty strong statement with his user ID -> SocialistAtheist
Yes that I am a Socialist and I am an Atheist...Pretty sure Obama is no Atheist and he is a Socialist but we still don't agree on everything...biggies for me are his stances on Abortion,Immigration,Gun Control. I disagree with him on all of those. Oh and gay marriage as well.
I don't agree with Obama on everything, but the complete insanity of his critics makes the case for him. If you don't believe me, peruse Right Wing Watch for a few days.
Imagine President Obama was a casual acquaintance of yours that you run into once in a while. If each time you met him, he lied to you ......?????? then how would you react
And Obama has not used EO's more than other recent Presidents.
But other Pres. were inclined to us EOs mainly during recess situations and on less important issues. I am generalizing of course: I do not remember any other President threatening to use EO like Obama.
Am I the only person who doesn't hate Obama for everything he does or like him for everything he does?
I agree with him on Iran for the most part and trying to make a deal
I agree with him on min wage raise
I agree with him on Pot
I agree with him bringing us out of Iraq
I agree with him on making the military smaller
I agree with him his long term goal for healthcare which I think is a single payer system
I don't agree with him on homosexual marriage
I don't agree with his war on coal
I don't agree with him immigration
I don't agree with him on not drilling for oil here.
I don't agree with him on gun control at all.
Seems I am alone in this..seems like most if not all either love Obama or hate him. I didn't vote for him and probably wouldn't given the chance but I do like some of his policies and views...why can't people find the good in things?
I don't hate the guy, and I don;t think he's incompetent. One needs to look at what kind of Legislative branch he's facing. It isn't all on him that there is no cooperation.
And, as for the lame EO excuse, President Obama is not even the top 10 when it comes to signing executive orders, and I applaud him for telling congress if they can't get it together and get the job done, he will.
Enough of this obstructionist bull**** from both sides.
All-in-all, I don't think he's one of the best Presidents we've ever had, nor is he the worst, not by far.

No, FDR used one to "relocate" Japanese Americans
He used one to regulate banks
He used several to entitle vets to burials, medical care, hospital care, etc.
None of these are minor
