Sure, why not? I don't know anything about his grandson, but depending on how he campaigns and the issues he is running on, he could win.

Probably not. He's a Democrat, and no Democrat has won statewide office in Georgia this century.

False, Barnes was a Democrat and governor until 2003, which would make him governor in this century.

Right, but he wasn't elected during this century. He won his first (and only) term in 1998.

I see no reason to think Georgia will flip blue for Jason Carter, just as there's no way California will elect a Republican to unseat Jerry Brown.

With the demographic changes going on in Georgia I think it might be possible. Georgia is now down to 57% white. And a large chunk of those whites are liberals. All the other groups will vote blue.

I think we all know what the poster meant: not elected during the century, which is true. Can Carters grandson get elected? My guess is no, but I do not claim to be an expert on Ga. politics.
