Thanks to poster Renault for the heads up. She does not miss any beat. Plus, as Pres. Obama might say, she's easy on the eyes. She is the new rep from the NY 21st CD. Watch her speech--she is the classic firebrand:
We need a new generation of Constitutional conservatives standing up for our individual rights in Washington. And chief among those rights are our 2nd Amendment rights....I'm a card carrying member of the NRA, I'm a proud gun owner myself, and I'm a pretty good shot.

This a modernized, better looking version of Patrick Henry.
At 30 years old, she is the youngest female ever elected to Congress. Her parents own a plywood business near Albany, NY. One of her motives for running was the problems caused to her family's business by Obamacare.
She graduated from Harvard at 21 in 2006. It appears that her major was poli sci, or as Harvard terms it, she was a 'government concentrator.' She wrote for the Harvard Crimson, and you can read some of her stuff here: Elise M. Stefanik | Writer Profile | The Harvard Crimson
She held several posts in the W Bush admin after graduating, and worked for the Pawlenty 08 campaign. Also she was Paul Ryan's debate prep handler. After that she went back to work for her parents' business.
While her rhetoric has echoes of a Ron Paul, it would appear that she also has a pragmatic political side, which is a quality I like. Reagan had that quality too. He cut his teeth as a labor negotiator. He always understood that if you demand everything or nothing, you'll walk away with nothing 99 times in 100.
it might surprise you to hear that Republicans are by far the more diverse party when it comes to statewide elected officials such as senators and governors. On this front, they leave Democrats in the dust. And that's why the GOP actually has a greater depth of diversity on their potential presidential bench looking to 2016 and beyond.
It's counterintuitive but true. Numbers don't lie.
Unfortunately she's probably hit the glass ceiling for New York because she's a conservative woman. Can't get elected governor or senator there. But she could have a long time in the House, maybe chair of a committee or leadership.
