The Compromise was still on the books until 1865 with the combined effect of the 13th amendment was ratified. The South left in 1861 because of the fear of Lincoln striking down slavery and adversely affecting their economy (which actually did happen after the Civil War ended) after beating Douglas and Beckenridge in the 1860 election.
So they place this huge trade tariff to penalize the south and only the southern slave states.
He already adversely effected the economy. Then abolishing the 3/5 compromise, through an unrepresented south.

They started to leave even before Lincoln was sworn into office (remember pre 1933, it was a March swear in, not January.) South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas all left the union prior to March 1861. Also by looking more into the confederacy, they faced the issues that would lead to the depressed south towards the end of the war (partially thanks to the Emancipation Proclamation being a tactical choke-point.
Disagree. Government uses force to make others others accept gay marriage. And that's the rub. Because government has gotten involved with marriage an individual/business has to accept gay marriage if the state says so.
Government is forcing states to adhere to the Constitution. Don't you like the Constitution?
The GOP will never win another presidency again, mainly because of the new millennial generation, and their continued stance against gay marriage and gay rights in general. Millennials don't like anti-gay or discriminatory ideologies.
If you would learn your history instead of making it up as you go along, that is exactly what they intended as there were 3 black founding fathers.
The Original Constitution stated just that.
Now, trying to get the South to join the union it wasn't going to work. The Slave states were going to be their own nation and it didn't matter to them one way or another. they were going to walk away and keep their vast wealth, from the idea of the union, including them. They only joined the union because of the 3/5 compromise, which was abolished in 1860, when congress refused to pass an amendment reversing the 3/5 compromise.
This caused a Civil War, to become their own nation as originally intended, after the revolution.
That doesn't change the fact that the founding fathers made it so blacks were only 3/5th of an American, and that slavery was legal. Even our first president was a slave owner. You cannot deny that fact.

The Gay Marriage issue would not be the deciding factor. A lot of the younger voters also choose not agree with gay lifestyle/rights,(for religious reason or not).
Many prefer for their beliefs not stomped on, or for someone elses lifestyle pushed down their throats. Which seems to be a pretty popular thing that liberals want to do lately.

As seen the last two midterms in actual exit polls people do not think much about social issues when they vote. The so called war on women and gay rights didn't even register. Other polls often turn out just like the polls before gay marriage vote in California. you notice they do not put it on ballot any more for voters to decide.I have never understood why people want two parties standing for same thing. that is what Greece got into trouble with ;who could promise more free stuff. now they are paying the price with interest.Choice is good because then you have no one to blame but the voters.

The northern colonies needed the wealth of the agricultural cotton rich south to survive. They made a compromise they never intended to keep. Never. The southern wealth & resources where too great to let go. from the get go, the Northern states hated the wealth of the Southern states.

If you believe the Democrat propaganda machine they will claim that the GOP lost on social issues. That an illegal immigration (but only the Hispanic vote on that one and only 10 million of them voted).
