IIRC Gary Johnson was divorced and single when he ran in the GOP primaries (2008?). He did not do well, but I don't recall the lack of a wife ever being raised as an issue against him.

Putting a spin on this, how many of you would vote for a man who has never been married and lacks a woman on the side? Jerry Brown was a governor of Calif back in the 70s (and now). Back then, I remember that magazines used to show him with Linda Ronstadt, a famous hot rocker at the time. If they hadn't showed him with such a hottie, I wonder if ppl might have thought differently of him?
My main three criteria for candidates are ideology, character, and experience. I can't imagine this being an issue. Bill and Hillary were married in name only, and not only was Bill re-elected in 1996, Hillary has to be considered as the front runner for 2016 as of now.
I would say that I did not, and never would have voted for Bill Clinton just based on what I considered the very credible accusation of Juanita Broadderick. But that's an entirely different topic.
If a Candidate was qualified and won the Presidential Election , why not? It just may break the concept our candidates have to be squeaky clean andmake sure they did cheat on their 5th Grade Spelling Test.
Think about this for a moment?
If we as a country can stick to the issues and What is Good For America!
