You're definitely on target here, the Republicans have been quick to raise the debt ceiling time and time again and provide funding for the ACA, even when they had the votes to stop it.

It would be a very smooth divorce from the idea of officially caring about spending levels to a more carefree platform that their friends across the aisle already have embraced.

They never had the votes to stop it as they don't hold veto-proof majorities in Congress, which is what would matter at the end of the day (we don't even have to talk about a lack of a filibuster proof majority in the Senate if we can't overcome that obstacle).

The Democrat alone didn't have the votes to pass the bill increasing the debt limit. The Democrats alone didn't have the votes to fund the ACA.

The Republicans provided those votes.

You don't need a "veto proof" majority.

I misread/misunderstood that. Yes, you are correct. They had the votes to stop it. But I find it stunning that you're expressing dismay that they did not do that (at least for the debt ceiling debate). The damage that could be done over a "stalemate" would have been far greater than increasing the debt ceiling. That would have been reckless and irresponsible to our economic health. When one side loses the initial battle because they didn't have control of the government, its not wise, in my view, to rehash that battle when they gained only have limited control of the government. Shutting down the government isn't governing and would only work to ensure that the GOP doesn't win the White House and could threaten their hold on Congress, which would make those battles ultimately for naught.

This sounds like the usual, hopeful, desperation, blowhard rhetoric from the Right that has no basis in reality. Because of Republican behavior during the Bush years, and the 8 years thereafter, Republicans are going to be annihilated in 2016. Dems keep the WH, take back the Senate, and the Right continues its free-fall.
The Democrats have failed economically and Have been overriding the Constitution for the 7 yrs. of Obama , Reid and Polse. Much further if you consider the Dem's taking over in 2006. If you have notice the GOP has been on point with the issues that are important to all voters. The Democrats could be even linked to the direct Housing bubble from 2008.

The DNC failure is not appealing to both sides, not just there cronies. Clinton has no record and perhaps should be in Federal Prisons. The Clinton's have lead the wake of unexplained deaths and the scandals for the last 40 years.

Cruz, Paul and Rubio and finally Jeb Bush have ben speaking directly to the issues. If you have not noticed the President has asked the Candidates to the White House to steal their ideals on Immigration.

As if your posts aren't "hopeful desperation," and "blowhard rhetoric?

LexuxNexus is an OFA voulunteer and ObamaBot. He will say anything to try to discourage conservatives, discredit conservative candidates and paint Obama as some kind of "Messiah," just as the left has done since 2008.
