Romney--why some say he flipflopped on gays....

The accusation of a flip is that one can show him supporting fair treatment for gays, and one can show him against gay marriage. That is not a flip. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court was responsible for legalizing gay marriage in that state. MA citizens, the legislature, and Romney had no say in the matter. As governor, Romeny's role was to enforce the law. So he had to. But he also invoked a 1913 law blocking out-of-state couples from being married in MA if that marriage would not be recognized in their home state. Within hours of the court's decision legalizing gay marriage, Romney publicly denounced the ruling and declared his support of traditional marriage.

Someone has a crush on Romney. As a gay man, i think it should be left to the states to decide who can be married and who can't. Invoking that 1913 law that was designed to keep blacks and whites from marrying was beyond despicable in his role as governor. Romney deserves to lose his fortune trying to defend his weak moral fiber.
