Liz Mair tweeted something yesterday suggesting that Walker's timing to drop out is good because he may have avoided a very bad story about him coming out.
I think she means that Walker is astute enough to call it quits, lick his wounds, regroup and reposition himself for the future.
If anything, Walker was and is politically ambitious (he's been at it for 25 years) and is always looking for the next step. He wasn't successful in his first attempts at public office but he kept at it.
We haven't seen the last of Scott Walker (politically), be forewarned.

I think his lying caught up with him. Wisconsin does not have a surplus. So he can now go back to screwing the state. Ah the irony, a drop out, dropped out.
Good riddance. Unfortunately the good people of Wisconsin are stuck with him and a continuation of his scorched earth policies.
And Walker is at it with a vengeance, almost as if he is taking his frustrations out on WI citizens.

Gov. Scott Walker wants to make it easier to hire and fire state workers, telling Republicans who control the state Assembly on Thursday that he endorses rewriting the 100-year-old rules designed to protect against political patronage and cronyism.
Walker's strong endorsement of the changes came just three days after he abruptly quit the Republican race for president.

"We're excited," Walker told Republicans who were meeting before heading into session to debate other measures. "There are many great reforms ahead."
I dont know why they thought running a campaign based on "battling unions" would be a good idea in an economic climate where wages have declined over the last decade. I understand his issue is with public sector unions, but its still not very compelling.
