Could this backfire?

Clinton is only 5 years younger and remember she resigned because of health issues while Sanders has had no health problems like that and is a former long distance runner.

If we look at this pic from the campaign trail, Sanders is looking pretty fit to me:

Is this your first campaign rodeo? This is exactly how they work, opposing candidates attack each other. This is state 1 in a primary. There are 49 states to go. If Bernie lasts that long and wins the nomination, then the real attacks begin and will make this one look like being punched by a feather duster.

If you're going to be this bothered by every campaign hit on Bernie, then at best it's going to be a long year for you. At worst, he'll soon be history and no one will ever attack him again.
Just saying.

Also, claiming Clinton is spending "tons of money" attacking Bernie and then posting a 3-year-old article about her health doesn't really make your point.

He might look older but that's because he is the real deal. What you see is what you get. No dying of the hair, no fancy suits, no heavy makeup, no nothing. He might lose votes on it, but he refuses to change who he is and always has been.

I fully expected it, even though Sanders has never run a negative attack ad in his life. I just wonder whether such attacks will backfire and is counterproductive for Hillary considering her age and health scares. I think Sanders' strategy of talking about the issues that matter instead of stuff like this is more productive.

The age thing is boring. Donald Trump is older than Hillary, notice he never talks about that? Trump dyes his hair, Sanders does not. I would vote for Hillary or Bernie but age is not a factor unless they choose someone like Sarah Palin for VP.

Also Clinton did not resign for "health issues". When she accepted the appointment, she publicly stated she would serve for only one 4-year term and that is exactly what she did.

You've offered no proof yet that any such ads exist.
