Aren't you the one who insists printing money out of nothing (increasing accrual of national debt, the $2 Trillion bailout of Fannie and Freddie, etc.) is a defacto tax?
Bernie explains he will pay for it, my question is why is it bad to not pay for health care but not for wars?
That has actually been changing somewhat. My Mom and her husband live in a very well-known retirement community along the southern east coast. More and more of their, their friends', and their neighbors' doctors are going into concierge practices and are charging an expensive yearly flat fee if you want to continue to have access to their services. Oh, sure, they bill Medicare when services are rendered. But you can't even get an appointment unless you pay the annual flat fee and you're on their concierge list.

"Medicare doesn’t cover membership fees for concierge care. Concierge care is when a doctor or group of doctors charges you a membership fee before they’ll see you or accept you into their practice."
I think many/most people are willing to pay more taxes, *as long as they receive a tangible benefit*. We're all paying for our own and other people's health care anyway, the question is whether we get a better deal by paying for it with taxes or by paying premiums to private companies. Most developed nations have found that taxes is the better route.
Note - if you think that you pay for only your own health care when you pay premiums to an insurance company - you don't understand insurance.
I don't agree that *most* people are willing to pay higher taxes. People are taxed out and fed up. The argument that socialized healthcare will save tax payers money ALWAYS omits the part about the lower quality of care and longer wait times that come with it. No thanks.

That's not the same thing as not accepting Medicare. Medicare won't pay for their annual fee so it's on the patient(s) to do that but if the patient pays the fee, they still accept Medicare.

You are going to pay even more in the long run as people are unable to go see a doctor so you get stuck with a huge cancer bill when it doesn't get caught early.

When one has to pay a several thousand dollar (not reimbursed by Medicare) annual fee just to access the services of a doctor who accepts and bills Medicare, what would you call it?
The doctors' reason for the annual concierge fee for access? High local number of Medicare patients (it's a retirement area) and Medicare's payment schedules that are far too low. Now, imagine putting everyone on Medicare...

I'm fairly thrifty with my words and it took me very few posts bank-and-forth with you in another thread to realize what a waste of time replying to you is. Your responses are juvenile and lack thought and logic. They're just defensive retorts to ideas and opinions you don't like, repeated over and over again.
