According to reports, Michael Bloomberg would join the race if Rep. nominates Trump or Cruz and Dem. nominates Sanders.
So it seems to me there is this catch: those in the DNC who would prefer Bloomberg to both Sanders and Clinton (as well as those who want Clinton but aren't confident about her winning) may well want to nominate Sanders and hope for Bloomberg's win, thus avoiding both Clinton and Sanders.
In order to access the ballot nationwide, it is estimated that an independent presidential candidate in 2016 would need to collect more than 900,000 signatures. This amounts to approximately 0.29 percent of the nation's population. California is expected to require independent candidates to collect 178,039 signatures, more than any other state. Tennessee is expected to require 275 signatures, fewer than any other state.
He is a billionaire who likes running governments. He was the Mayor of NY. That is what he wants, political power.
Theres no way he would win. Thats the issue, and he is smart enough to know it. If he is getting political power out of it, its in the form of a seperate deal with someone.

What do you think?
I think that will help hrc, if anything, because delegates will support her more instead of having Bloomberg to divide the votes.

No, he is testing the water. He has said he will only run if it is Trump or Cruz versus Bernie. He is calculating that the electorate may have such a distaste for both of the candidates that he would have a chance. If that does happen, I don't think he would try to go the distance if he didn't think he had an actual chance of winning.
By floating the idea now, he is in a position to gauge the voters' reaction to a possible candidacy and do some preplanning if he judges the reaction as favorable.
Bloomberg would doom HRC by sucking all the democrat votes from her to him. He won't get any from the right, he has a really bad rep in the republican party. Sanders will still do OK because he has the younger vote and trump will not be affected.
Hillary is the one that needs to worry.
