Cruz has no chance to win the Republican nomination, but he's going to play a big roll in who wins between Trump and Rubio.

One of two things will happen.

#1 Cruz will stay in the race even after getting crushed on super Tuesday, which will secure the Republican nomination for Trump by taking just enough voters away from Rubio to maintain a small lead.

#2 Cruz will stick around until super Tuesday where he will be almost mathematically eliminated and call it quits.Trump will have a slight edge on Rubio at this point, but the anti-trump vote will stage a comeback in the remaining contests giving Rubio narrow victory.

You heard it here first LOL

Nope.
Texas's 155 delegate votes are a sure thing for Cruz.

I can kind of see your point, but when the rubber meets the road, Cruz and Rubio are much more alike than Cruz and Trump are. I expect that Cruz would send his supporters toward Marco Rubio.

The same can be said for Hillary. She only won Iowa by some questionable coin flips and will get crushed in New Hampshire. The voters did not like her in 2008 and they don't like her now.
