He very much talks like a New Yorker (I'm from there originally) and he has the gestures, too, like the two hand push-off (my terminology) that you would normally associate with "get outta here" as well as the expression, "I can tell you that" which he says often after the end of a sentence. I laugh good-naturedly when I hear it because it reminds me of where I'm from. It's conversational New Yorkese not lofty rhetoric. It may seem foreign to your ears but I suspect it will do him well in a state like Florida.
Rubio, Cruz, Bush, they are all puppets who dont care at all about the voters and laugh at them when discussing policy with their financial overlords (Koch bros, Sheldon Adelson (Rubio), big banks, the pharma drug cartels etc).
in a party that is dominated by white supremacists and other bigots, it's tough for the son of cuban immigrants to get any traction. Trump is their great white hope who mops up the floor with the minority gop candidates. No wait-- he will make them mop up his floor for him! And they will pay him to do it!

In all honesty he likely will. Rubio has a long time before he begins to see states that are friendly enough for him to win. Unless he manages to pull off a Super Tuesday surprise people are going to begin to question his ability to not be able to knock Trump out of the picture.
I agree. I would've preferred Rubio and I'm looking forward to Super Tuesday but across the GOP spectrum they're turning out forTrump, not Rubio.
Trump's "speaking all over the place" is part of a strategy to appeal to the common man. Why do you think people dislike(d) Jeb!, Obama and Hillary? They speak with policy and big words. Trump, despite being a billionaire New Yorker, talks like a normal person. And it's paying off. If you listen to his interviews, however, he's very well-spoken and eloquent.
And no, most of Cruz's support would never go to someone from the "Washington Cartel". They might not like Trump, but they prefer him to the establishment. Carson's supporters would probably go to Trump as well after the Iowa scheme of Cruz.
The key quality of both Trump and Cruz is anti-Establishment, in this anti-Establishment year.
So that 55-60% of the GOP electorate is going to side with either Trump or Cruz, whichever is left standing the last.
Regardless of what Trump, Cruz or any one else says.

The candidates who "excite" the GOP's "base" turn off almost all other voters. Trump isn't going "excite" the GOP Right Wingnut base either; they think he's a Democrat masquerading as a RINO.

People who think that are missing what Trump's all about. On both Fox and CNN it was pointed out this morning that exit polls show Trumps biggest appeal is his stance on immigration. Couple that with the anti-establishment vote and Trump is blowing them away. I still find it hard to believe, but Hillary is so weak Trump may well end up in the WH.
