But, don't you think someone who wants to be a LEADER, should not be able to see something he is taking the LEAD on, is bad before he starts pushing for it? That is not what I look for in a leader.

Not necessarily. At least once he saw it was a problem he didn't insist on getting it passed anyway. I want some flexibility in a president, sometimes being a leader is accepting that what you want is less important than doing what those you lead need.

Honestly, if a candidate is willing to commit themselves to rescinding the amnesty-friendly executive orders, strip sanctuary cities of their funding, allow border states to protect those borders, and direct their Department of Justice to enforce the laws already on the books, I think it would take care of the bulk of the immigration issues and I am good with their stance on amnesty.

But people in the March 1 states are already early voting.

I think given Rubio's history and what his big donors are (big open borders guys) this doesn't help no matter what he's saying now.

There were 4 Republicans and 4 Democrats in the Gang of 8. McCain, Graham, Flake and Rubio made up the Republican side. This group was pressured by all sorts of outside lobbiests, including the powerful Chamber of Commerce, who advocates for their members preference for cheap labor and strongly oppose e- Verify. Their members have been the beneficiaries of the 30 year history of Congress' failure to take action.

The proposed legislation did nothing to eliminate the legacy protected status of Cuban immigrants/ refugees versus all other immigrants/ refugees.

^^^That was why I was swayed toward Rubio along with him being able to beat Hillary.
But NOW I don't think I believe him at all that he will do the above.
Waiting for his response.....

But I've lost my respect for Rubio at this point.
Let's see which cable news channel does mention it.

I listened to the Tim Scott interview when he endorsed Rubio. He said the Gang of 8 was one of his biggest concerns about Rubio in the past. Scott interviewed every Republican candidate and said he would only endorse someone if they were "head and shoulders" above the rest. After interviewing Rubio for hours and talking to him a lot since then, Scott truly believes that Rubio knows that the Gang of 8 was a mistake. And that any immigration policy has to start with controlling out borders. Immigration was my main concern about Rubio, and after hearing the Tim Scott endorsement interview, I was sold. I'm planning to go to a Rubio rally here tomorrow to hear him in person.

very good statement. We have to take so much of this with a grain of salt. It also might be a good idea if those who are so loyal to a candidate they have become blind sited considered where the information came from and waited to hear the other side

To those who are hoping the claim will hurt him in S.C. it probably is too late. Remember this isn't exactly breaking news.

More need to pay attention to the sources for their opinions. you seem to understand this. We have way too many websites, many are not reliable and have an agenda, but some posters can't or don't want to see past that.
