Trumy repeats himself all the time. It gives him a chance to collect his thoughts. Oddest speaking mannerism. Check it out during Thursday night's debate. It buys him time ever when he doesn't know what to say.
He repeats himself from rally to rally. He does not repeat himself in a loop like this.
I've never been to a Trump rally, but I'm sure that it's always a verbal high wire act where no one knows what will happen or where it will go.
I'm not one of his fans, but I'm sure that being there when Donald is on a roll could be a thriller, even for me. I saw Reagan once, and though I disagreed with everything he said, it was still exciting.
So I wouldn't call his supporters a bunch of trained seals exactly. They mostly come with expectations, and Trump gives them what they want to hear. And he does it better than anyone else except for Sanders, who has the same high level of skill. Reagan had it, George W. Bush had it, and so did Bill Clinton and Obama.
At the same time, speaking too much by rote can kill a candidate real fast. The reason Jeb Bush never caught fire was because he always stuck to his script and couldn't improvise. Rubio is even worse; whenever he's pushed, he locks up and instantly goes robotic.
They all had scripts, but they all could riff on a theme spontaneously as well. This ability can really grab those who are listening. Never discount the powers of a personal experience.
There's always a lot of improvising that any President must do in speech, thought, and action. I don't believe Rubio has the right stuff for the job at all. Rubio can't see when he must instantly change his thoughts around.
Trump's biggest problem is the perception he might fly too much by the seat of his pants, which is an entirely different thing.
What was interesting to me in the video with O'Rielly was Rubio seemed unwilling to make ANY decision. Time after time, he said 'the people', and never 'I would'. That was his robotic fallback. Someone else will do the deciding, not me.
Rubio is all repeats and no shows. He is just a guy who found an easy paycheck in Washington.
His brother in law and sister have a huge criminal coviction issue and Marco lived with them for a long time which to me could be an issue.
Gang of 8 combined with the drugs crimes of his family and the lies, about how his parents came here as well as his bad Senate record on top of Floridians not liking him to me is proof that he has no chance.
He was asked the question a few times and strayed from answering it by repeating one of his rehearsed talking points 8 times.
Rubio never answers a direct question, he always just recites one of about 10 memorized Fox News/talk radio approved talking points. His favorite is the now infamous (thanks Chris Christie!), "let's dispel this notion that Obama doesn't know what he is doing yada yada yada." Rubio is a Republican Teddy Ruxpin.
Give it up please. Don't you have anything better to offer than you found something no one else did or no one cares about? Have you kept track of other repeats? Obviously not. Do you think these postings you are making will make a bit of difference to anyone?
He doesn't repeat that he's going to build a wall 8 times in the span of 5 minutes. Meaning Rubio has no ability to think on his feet, which is why he got stumped by Christie and got burned in NH.
and with the exception of the Chirstie disaster which Rubio admits, he hasn't repeated the same thing 8 times in 5 minutes either.
