If Barack Obama becomes the next US president he will surely be assassinated, British Nobel literature laureate Doris Lessing predicted in a newspaper interview published here Saturday.

Obama, who is vying to become the first black president in US history, "would certainly not last long, a black man in the position of president. They would murder him," Lessing, 88, told the Dagens Nyheter daily.

Well that would be something for the US to be proud of (she said with heavy sarcasm).

We managed to kill Metger Evers and Martin Luther King and countless others because of the color of their skin and the civil rights movement.

So we're now listening to 88 year old foreigners for predictions about American politics?

Well, I guess it is worth "almost" as much (meaning very little) as Chuck Norris's belief that McCain would die in office.

This is not "NEWS" as the subject of this thread states. It is nonsense.

Uhm, and you don't think this holds true for Hillery too? that women is so hated, and I cant see some nut job not getting his 15 min. of fame by assassinating her if she wins.

Also take into fact, that there have only been 2 Seated Senators elected President ever, and both were killed within the first year of office as President.

Not true. Harding was elected from the Senate and died of a heart attack. Kennedy was in his third year when assassinated.

U.S. Senate: Art & History Home > People > Senators > Senators Who Became President

You need to check your facts.

Only "seated Senator" JFK was "killed" when he ascended to the Presidency and, BTW, not in his first year (November 1963).
