Then WHY would an alleged outsider who allegedly wants to get rid of lobbyists and cronies choose to seek the nomination of and to represent an establishment party in love with lobbyists and cronies?
When was the last time an independent won it all? Maybe that's your answer?

When was the last time an (I) had the wherewithal to finance his/her own campaign, a huge amount of dissatisfaction in the country, AND the name recognition to possibly pull it off? IMO claiming to be a non-member of the establishment while seeking the nomination of a solidly establishment party reveals both a lack of conviction in his alleged beliefs as well as a lack of cojones.
There is no real opponent yet with Bernie gaining ground on Hillary but if the GOP messes around behind closed doors at the brokered convention they will find the American people will be their opponents.
It is very plain to see that both establishment parties have no interest to create jobs as the middle class grows poorer. In time the people on welfare roles will grow ,and this will definitely shrink the tax base so much so,that they will have to decrease welfare payments, costs of living will skyrocket and we will be controlled by the rich elitist class. Trump sees the signs of America evolving now to a third world country. He knows and many other Americans see this too.

Ross Perot?
And why do you assume the word republican = establishment? Perhaps there were republicans before the establishment that many people don't like? I don't see why anti-establishment and republican are mutually exclusive.

Not to mention this purported outsider has admitted giving money for the purpose of influencing public policy in his favor . . . . . I don't understand.
Neither of the two parties used to be this way, they have grown corrupt,
Where does this mythology come from? Either you are incredibly young or totally ignorant of the history of either party. If you think the present process is corrupt I have no idea what you would have thought about party conventions pre-1968 when only 12 states conducted preferential primaries and king makers like Strom Thrumond and Richard Daley lorded over the convention.

Another self appointed spokesperson for Americans. Sorry but a whole lot of Americans, I suspect a plurality will either be watching gleefully at the Republican self-immolation or won't give it the time of day.
