Interesting statistic: Illegal immigrants make up 3.5% of the population, and 5.1% of the labor force. This refutes the notion that they come here to get on the dole, to borrow a loathsome phrase conservatives like to use.

Translation: I don't like the official numbers, I'm going to make up my own.

Who counts up the illegals Ray ? I've heard estimates of 30 million ...

And even if some of the Mexican illegals are leaving, lots are still pouring in and NONE should be coming in. Hard for the libs to comprehend as I'm sure as it means eventual votes for the Socialists.

So you doubt a highly respected nonpartisan think tank like Pew Research Center, but have no problem citing BS numbers from an agenda-driven conservative anti-immigrant group? Can you say confirmation bias?

From your cite -

After weighing the financial pros against the cons, she says the U.S. economy comes out slightly ahead due to the presence of illegal aliens.

Jeffrey Passel, a senior demographer at the Pew Hispanic Center, takes the debate one step further. He points out that most attempts to find a meaningful number are usually futile, since the data are so difficult to collect. And anyway, he says, what is the point?
"We don't generally ask these questions about anybody else," says Passel. He points out that using the "cost" argument, one could make a case against parents who generally benefit more from public schools than the taxes they pay. "It's not a subject that there is a definitive answer to."

Made up statistics and horribly stupid logic (adding US citizens to the total). The usual garbage.

Anchors of anchors? No surprise that the majority of Americans are fed with these scapegoating tactics, and far-right conservatism in general.

What changed?

In a word: Trump. As one pundit put it on Twitter: "It could be that Trump has made the issue so his thing that it basically meant if you're against Trump you're against the wall."
Must have been polling illegals and liberals.

Actually no. Senator jacob Howard stated, in reference to the 14th amendment, "this will not, of course, include foreigners, ALIENS, and children of ambassadors...."

LOOK IT UP. Illegals and visa overstayers ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION OF THE UNITED STATES and their anchor babies are not legit citizens.

Look at the wong kim ark case. He was granted citizenship because his parents were here legally at the time of his birth.

Or real conservatives.

I came across this poll being discussed on two conservative sites, and the posters there were pissed at how Trump is destroying the real conservative agenda. You can blame the messenger, in this case the nonpartisan American think tank Pew Research, but it doesn't change the message.
