I don't understand what is "disgusting" about this.
The PARTY chooses who the PARTY will support. The PARTY is, and has always been a private organization with money and influence to wield on behalf of whomever the PARTY chooses.
This is exactly why we need more options besides just Democrat or Republican. What about the PEOPLE nominate someone as well that can run against these money, influence, establishment candidates.

Not so fast. They serve the PUBLIC, they need to listen to voters or disband.

No, they don't "serve" the public. The political parties are private organizations of like minded people banding together to operate as a cohesive group for a common goal. The public has no right to demand a say in who their nominee is, the public does have a right to choose to vote or not vote for that nominee.

The people can nominate someone any time they want.
The fact is that when they nominate someone, they nominate them under some sort of identifiable aegis, so that the voters will know something of what the candidate stands when they are voting. That labeling is a party. Hence, the Green Party, or the Libertarian Party, or the Socialist Party. These labels allow the parties to raise funds, and to organize in states in order to get on the ballots.
You are not going to get "more options" by grousing on an anonymous forum. You have to change the laws in your STATE, to empower third parties.
And you can try to get the 435-cap lifted on the House of Representatives. Which would loosen the control of the two-party system, would give better representation to the people, would make it harder and more expensive for lobbyists and special interest groups to wield influence, and would address the increasing problem of skewed representation and a skewed electoral college (when one state's representatives only represent 750,000 people and another state's representatives represent 1,200,000 people, the Congressional districts are seriously skewed).

Oh stop...What you said is completely wrong. They serve the damn public. Just stop.
Also, if they don't serve the public then the RNC needs to pay ALL GOP salaries, not the tax payer. That's how I know you are full of ****.

They don't serve the public.
They serve a public function.
But the party's objective is to help the candidates the party supports to win elections.
If a party is split behind multiple candidates, then it's split. It will then LOSE elections until it can find a way for the party to unite.
The rhetoric behind "no compromise" is a stumbling block for a united party. Divided parties LOSE.
And no matter how you might wish to spin it, the party itself is still a PRIVATE organization, able to make up its own rules, and able to control the nomination process.
