This is part of the plan to tell us trump is losing support. Unfortunately for them New York is next to break that theory.

I gotta quit laughing at that - with over 70% unfavorables and growing, it would be wayyyy too difficult to find a poll where he has even 50% favorables among the general population.

Even in his best demographic, paraphrasing as 'less educated white guys in the south', the favorables was only 55%. He can't win if he can't convert the other 45% to his side, along with all the others who like him even less than them.

I do understand that you don't care what happens to the republican party because of this, and I am beginning to believe that the republican party in general (the 70% who don't support trump as their nominee) doesn't care what the trump followers want, either. Perhaps they really do want trump to go independent. Perhaps they wish he would just go already, get out of their hair, so that they can concentrate on fielding a candidate who could actually win. In the final analysis, do the republicans want to stay intact (even if 70+% hate the candidate), or do they want to get a democrat out of the WH?

It's actually 62% right now and that % will decrease after the Northeast primaries. The GOP doesn't have a candidate that can win; otherwise they would have trotted him/her by now. They started with 17 and 14 were dispatched quickly. The GOP is desperate right now and in big trouble when very few folks embraced their candidates of choice, Jeb and Rubio.

Your personal hatred for Trump is amusing so please keep posting "poll numbers". Poll numbers last summer had Rubio as the GOP dream candidate. How did that work out ? We also all know Reagan overcame a 30% favorability rating in mid-April 1980.

But keep trying ... people with dementia repeat the same thing over and over as well.

So what?

All that means is enough Republican primary voters in NY like him better than the other two. It does not mean he's ever going to get elected to anything.

I'm not one to make equivocal statements about who will ultimately win, but it doesn't look good at this point that there will ever be a President Donald Trump. Thank God.

If that's how it plays out, maybe it will be the wake-up call that eventually returns the GOP to some level of sanity. But I doubt it.

from the article: "Another problem for Trump is that his public perception seems to be getting worse. The number of Americans who view him unfavorably has risen more than 10 percentage points since mid-February, a two-month stretch that has included some of his biggest primary victories but also an array of stumbles that suggested difficulties with his campaign organization and a lack of policy depth."

"Even in the South, a region where Trump has won GOP primaries decisively, close to 70 percent view him unfavorably. And among whites without a college education, one of Trump’s most loyal voting blocs, 55 percent have a negative opinion."

That lack of policy depth, coupled with lack of ability to stop the twitter trumpertantrums, and constant nastiness towards anyone who crosses him, appear to be turning people off. Yep, trump doesn't seem to wear well, and is starting to wear on people's nerves.

"But the breadth of his unpopularity raises significant questions about how he could stitch together enough support in the general election to win the White House."

Two words: Hillary Clinton

He hasn't even started on her, yet.

Trump can't throw anything at Hillary that she can't throw right back at him. She, at least, won't get us into WWIII with a series of tweet temper tantrums in the middle of the night. He doesn't have the temperament and judgement to sit in the Oval Office and that gets more apparent every day. He has also insulted too groups needed to win the general election and he can't mend those fences.

This is the bottom line for people like me. It would kill me, but I would vote for Hillary before I would vote for Trump. Eventually, difficult though it might be, economic and cultural errors or schisms can be fixed, but once the Earth is literally scorched there is no fixing that.

Yup!

He blasts me for hating on Trump but 87 posts in ONE day has to be a record and its all anti-Cruz, pro Trump rhetoric. Pot, meet kettle.
