Glenn Beck said much the same thing when he called Mrs Trump a " Leabian Porno Star" and that " Evangiicals in the South had forsaken their God" because Cruz was the Savior that the Book had promised.
These fools think that Cruz will win a General Election without the Political Insider Cartel to grease the skids with their special "rules".
Funny how quick the Tea Party is to throw the religious nuts under the bus now that they aren't serving Cult Leader Donald's needs. Remember when the TPs were railing against gay marriage, demanding the 10 Commandments in all public buildings and pushing for prayer in school?
They wanted to impeach Clinton for adultery but it's now ok because Donald said so. They had Howard Stern run off the air for obscenity when his frequent guest Trump talks pretty much the same way in debates and stump speeches
Being an evangelical means you makes decisions, including voting, on biblical principals. It would be ridiculous to think evangelicals needed to vote for only Cruz to be authentic, there were plenty of candidates that should have been satisfactory to evangelicals, including Carson, Santorum, and even Rubio. However, I have NO respect for anyone claiming to be a evangelical who voted for Trump. He's like the poster child of who evangelicals supposedly are trying to keep out of public office.

We all know that old man Cruz is bat-poop crazy! Also, that the "apple doesn't fall far from the tree".
What old man Cruz doesn't realize about the southern people is that they are of that "old time religion" where the Ten Commandments really mean something and the requirement is to not just "talk the talk" but "walk the walk". The deceitfulness of the Cruz campaign made it impossible for someone with true Christian values to support the deceitful Cruz. By supporting him, they would support the sin of deceitfulness. It is really quite simple.
Inasmuch as Cruz feels that forcing Kim Davis to do her job and provide marriage licenses for SSM is morally wrong, endorsing a candidate engaged in deceitfulness would be endorsing the sin. I mean, it is so simple that I don't see why people don't get it.
Trump is fine. He is middle of the road where the majority of people are. Cruz has went off the deep end and old man Cruz is so far gone he is off the charts!
So what if they are fake? Trump carried a prop Bible to fake out the Iowan evangelicals while he played a fake Evangelical spouting off about Two Corinthians. He was going for the fake Evangelical vote.

It's his mother's Bible, not a prop. It means something to him and he wanted to convey that he respects what it stands for. To me, that's more authentic than holding it up, setting it down, and then lying.
