There have been plenty of Governors who ran. What do they know about foreign policy or US policy as a whole? So I guess 300 days experience of voting present is all you need since that is how long Obama was a US Senator before running for POTUS. Being a State Senator doesn't count because they only deal with stuff at the state level like a Governor.
McConnell, Ryan, Romney, Graham, all Red Coat Republicans. Give them no quarter. Let there be no sanctuary in any public place where they may ferment ideas that give aid and comfort to Hillary.

That is very twisted logic, but does explain the rise of Trump, who has no grasp of issues because he wasn't really interested.
You equate being the governor or a state senator (for 10 years) with building golf courses? Uh--ok.
