Because he is trying to deflect and distract. He knows he is wrong, but doesn't want to admit it to those who acknowledge the truth about Warren.
NO that is the KEY POINT. She gained nothing from her understanding from her parents and grandparents of their Native American heritage. She gained nothing. She even posted in a cookbook 30 years ago, again, gaining nothing but obviously believing what her parents and grandparents told her.
I know you actually grasp this. Since she gained nothing, it is completely inconsequential. You are just desperate to try to find a flaw in a completely nothing situation. She had no ill intent, gained nothing and her parents and grandparents are dead, so she can't ask them now.
This must be the new version of seeing a birth certificate. If she produced a DNA test (like Obama did with his long form BC) then you all would start questioning its authenticity. Why bother? Meanwhile you've yet to show what Senator Warren actually gained by believing family folklore.
No sorry, those of us who acknowledge that Warren lied about her ethnicity on a document ( caually referred to as 'checking a box...etc.'by another CD member) aren't a set that 100% intersects with 'birthers'. I can't stand Obama because of his beliefs/ideology, but I didn't believe the 'birther' nonsense. I looked at the situation as settled beyond reproach when I learned that the examiner who authenticated Obama's long form BC during the controversy holds, IIRC, 7 of the 13 patents relevant to this discipline. Die hard 'birthers' might not accept the results of a positive DNA test for NA ancestry for Warren, but most people would. She won't submit to a test, because she knows the result will be further proof that she is a liar.
Folklore isn't proof.
And again, whether someone gains or not has NOTHING to do with what is or isn't a lie.
Is there any proof that Elizabeth Warren knew she had zero North American heritage? Is there any proof that she wasn't ever told she had?
It seems strange to me to defame someone without proof.
There's proof that she used to identify as white. How many sane people change races in their 30s due to a great, great, great grandparent (who may be part whatever).
No, it isn't. Explain how whether she gained or not has anything to do with whether she lied or not. You can't because it doesn't. She either lied or she didn't...and she did, and cannot prove that she did not. She asserted what you and others have admitted are STORIES and FOLKLORE, NOT PROVABLE FACT.

Inconsequential to Progressives, because the ends justify the means. Integrity matters to many of us.

When integrity is at issue, it is never 'a completely nothing situation'
what is the attack? That she believed her parents and grandparents? Stupid child! To have believed her parents and grandparents! Let's dig them up and scream at them. Let's instill in all children that their parents and grandparents are probably lying about their heritage.
Anyone with her academic credentials....especially studying the law.....knows (and I believe you do as well) that the above doesn't constitute FACT.
For the sake of the argument (although not reasonably the case), let's assume that Warren is naive, 100% believed what her family told her, and is extremely proud of same....then....AS LILY HAS POINTED OUT ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS ALONG THIS THREAD....her answer on all relevant forms would ALWAYS be checking the box/filling in the blank that indicates Native American, not SOMETIMES White and AT OTHER TIMES Native American.

She checked the box on a directory AFTER she was hired, hoping maybe she would meet others. You are trying to make this into a thing, but it's not a thing. She gained nothing from checking the box, she was already hired. She gained nothing from her heritage and had no reason to question her parents and her grandparents. We have DNA tests now but her parents and grandparents did not and they are long since gone. She contributed to the cookbook THIRTY YEARS AGO and gained nothing from that either.
Obviously she carried on with the same understanding her siblings and other family members had from the same parents and grandparents. Not a percentage of Native American blood because she gained nothing from that, just a general anecdote about her family's heritage.
So Elizabeth Warren is the reason Harvard was not diverse? Hahahha okay now the barrel is being scraped. Get that last drop! Desperation is very motivating! Reach!
Dismissal re your opinion on the state of the debate/argument, rather than acknowledging that you can't dispute the factual content of IC's post. Sad.
