So what? Did I miss something and they will be voting. Keep in mind that they are not yet a part of the US although Clinton would like both Canada and Mexico to be a part of the US and eventually the rest of the world under her "One World Government", one currency crap!

I am perplexed that anyone even bothers to ask what the other countries want or think, because I don't really care. When they become US citizens, at that point, their opinion will have at count for something!

Anywherelse.

How typically myopic of you......to assume that the country that does the MOST business with yours, and is the closest military partner of the US, and the people "next door " will NOT have an opinion about US politics ? Of course we do.

Yes we do have an opinion, and it is an informed one, too. Canadians have full access to every US media outlet, TV, newspapers, radio, magazines and conversations with personal friends/relatives in your country. We WILL be affected directly by the election in November, no matter which of the parties wins it.

Clinton or Trump ? Both are as scary as hell to us here in Canada. Clinton's backers WILL want a payback , when she is in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Trump is a megalomaniac, with no restraint, or appreciation of the art of being diplomatic. A blundering ignorant elephant.

Is there a concern that if Trump got elected Canada would have a flood of American refugees?

Enigma77.

No, everyone, from any country who wants to be approved to come to Canada, as a legal Immigrant, must meet the same standards for education, personal suitability, and work experience. That applies to Americans, too. It is a tough application process, and only about one out of every 5 applicants will be approved. We want the best applicants, in terms of their having a University graduation degree, or being highly skilled trades professional, with 5 years of actual working experience. No criminal convictions , no drug use, no bankruptcies, in good health, and willing to work and contribute to our society, as a taxpayer.

Canada and the USA have a longstanding International agreement, that NEITHER country will accept refugees, from the other country. So, no, we are not afraid of the results of the election in November, at least not as far as "refugees " are concerned.

We ARE concerned about the fall out of the election, and how it will affect us here in Canada. Just one example....the attitude and enforcement by the DHS at the US border with Canada.

In the past year, 2015, there have been a large number ( more than 100 cases ) of Canadians being subjected to illegal and criminal searches and detention by DPH officers. In some cases, these officers have been reprimanded, and or fined, and in a few cases, been fired, for misconduct.

One recent example from western Canada. A Canadian woman was detained by DHS officers when she was attempting to enter the USA at a entry port from British Columbia. She was strip searched by three MALE officers, and subjected to a body cavity search, which yielded NOTHING.

She was refused entry to the USA.

That's just one of dozens of similar episodes.

So we should consult foreign countries about our elections? Let's ask Mr. Putin.
