He's right. And this from a conservative who worked on three Republican presidential campaigns.

Not only is Trump a petulant sociopath obsessed with insulting anyone who crosses him, he's also dumb as a box of rocks and actually proud of it. He didn't know what Brexit was, missed on basic understanding of America's nuclear weapons capabilities, and turns out he doesn't even know that Russia already invaded Ukraine and took Crimea.

Conservatives, is this really what you're all about? When did being stupid and uninformed become something to be proud of?

How the "Stupid Party" created Donald Trump

Quote:
Mr. Trump doesn’t know the difference between the Quds Force and the Kurds. He can’t identify the nuclear triad, the American strategic nuclear arsenal’s delivery system. He had never heard of Brexit until a few weeks before the vote. He thinks the Constitution has 12 Articles rather than seven. He uses the vocabulary of a fifth grader. Most damning of all, he traffics in off-the-wall conspiracy theories by insinuating that President Obama was born in Kenya and that Ted Cruz’s father was involved in the Kennedy assassination. It is hardly surprising to read Tony Schwartz, the ghostwriter for Mr. Trump’s best seller “The Art of the Deal,” say, “I seriously doubt that Trump has ever read a book straight through in his adult life.”
Quote:
Mr. Trump even appears proud of his lack of learning. He told The Washington Post that he reached decisions “with very little knowledge,” but on the strength of his “common sense” and his “business ability.” Reading long documents is a waste of time because of his rapid ability to get to the gist of an issue, he said: “I’m a very efficient guy.” What little Mr. Trump does know seems to come from television: Asked where he got military advice, he replied, “I watch the shows.”
Quote:
Mr. Trump promotes a nativist, isolationist, anti-trade agenda that is supported by few if any serious scholars. He called for tariff increases that experts warn will cost millions of jobs and plunge the country into a recession. He claimed that Mexican immigrants were “bringing crime” even though research consistently shows that immigrants have a lower crime rate than the native-born. He promised that Mexico would pay for a border wall, even though no regional expert thinks that will ever happen.

Trump is a bad candidate but this op-ed shows why he won.

Just to keep this simple. Trump is not anti-trade. Nothing could be further from the truth.

He is anti things like NAFTA and TPP which have been horrible for the country.

He isn't against immigration. He is against illegal immigration.

This guy is a status quo defender and the status quo is not working for millions.

I read said article, by Max Boot, yesterday. I found it both interesting, perhaps brilliant, yet at the same time sad.

No wonder Donald John Trump is considering banning reporters from the New York Times to his events. Indeed, the way things are going (his banning various media representatives), his rallies will eventually be covered only by the nutter that has the blog called The Gateway Pundit, frequently linked to by his supporters here in CD.

"Stupid Party"? Democratic Party. I wouldn't call them "stupid", just incompetent and yes, because of their incompetence and determination to put a dynasty candidate into place, that did create an opening for an outsider like Trump. This is a good thing.

Thinking Americans can agree that if you voted for obama, twice, you're a member of the stupid party.

Conservatives created Trump with their pandering to the RWN fringe.

That is right. Conservative voters were begging for a good candidate to represent them and were constantly ignored and rejected. Same with the EU, if Britain was so important to them why did they constantly ignore the people.

They might not know that's what they're doing (they don't call it the stupid party for nothing), but by supporting Trump, that's what they're doing.

The problem with the stupid party is that they don't keep their stupid to themselves. All that stupid ends up getting on everybody.
Yup, and this is exactly what dictators do. They start to control the media. One thing is to influence the media, another thing is to control it. We can easily say that people like Obama or Clinton influence it. But now Trump is trying to control it by shutting down certain organizations and what not. That's something Chavez, Castro or Correa have done in the past.

You better bet, is attempt to shut down certain parts of the media that try to cover him, is going to come up in the debates in regards to the constitution. I wonder what lie he is going to come up with?

This only makes sense in an alternate universe. Eight years of President Bush was an example of the "smart party?"

Please.

Those with two neurons to knock together will recall that we were attacked on his watch. The Pentagon was attacked after the Commander in Chief received briefings that such attacks were imminent and he did nothing about it. You'd think the conspiracy theorists would have a hay day with that business. Oh, but no.

Instead of going after Bin Ladin, the "smart party" started two wars which have subsequently destabilized the region.

Then there's what was left of the nation's economy after eight years of the "smart party."

The last Republican President who left our nation's economy in better shape than he found it was Eisenhower. Look it up.

It's true.

Well, in this universe at least. In the alternate universe, we still have those who believe in Trickle Down economic policies.
