I never said what he was doing was illegal, but you can't say he is using his own money to run when he is then charging his own campaign for his services.

DT may have assets running into "billons", but that does not mean he has that much money lying around in ready cash.
Given the vast sums required you'd have wealth like Mark Zuckerberg or any of the other tech billionaires *and* willing to cash in the assets required in order to self fund a POTUS election run.
As with many other things Trump's net worth according to numbers he provides borders on braggart swagger.
