This is more of a joke than anything else, but like most jokes, you have a semblance of truth to it.

These are the steps to the Campaign Doom Loop:

1. Trump polling receives a negative shock
2. Fewer moderates attend his rallies
3. Only hardcore supporters go see Trump
4. Trump tailors his speeches to get a rise out of his audience
5. With an audience of crazies, Trump has to sound even crazier
6. In sounding crazier, Trump's poll numbers sink as more voters are turned off
7. Back to #2

Rinse and repeat

It's a joke, people; lighten up.

I think there is some definite truth to that.

While I think the whole TRUMP IS A DEMOCRATIC PLANT! idea is beyond inane, I do think that Trump ran merely to enjoy lots of free press and crowds and boost his brand. I suspect he was as astonished as anyone when he actually vaulted into the lead.

And while I think he would like to win - not so much to be President, but to win - I also think he's like a child that just can't sit still for 10 seconds. He lacks the discipline to win, and is unable to resist the thrill of the cheers and adulation from the crowd when he says something outlandish. Trump craves the instant gratification of the hero-worship of his fawning followers more than he does an electoral prize months down the road. He's the child that is offered one cookie now, or three cookies if he waits for five minutes. He fidgets, and after five seconds he gobbles down the cookie. He has a sort of political ADD.

By this point, it's clearly sunk in to him that he can't have both the immediate gratification and the months-down-the-road win. So, like a child, he's going for the here and now. It's why he'll attend the debates - and get politically hammered in them. He just can't help himself. He can't pass up being watched by 100 million people and he can't pass up the 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' from the crowd in the debate hall when he says something beyond the pale. And when his poll numbers dive even further? Oh well. Just the price to be paid for a fun night under the lights.

It's not that he's trying to lose, per se - it's just that he's like an addict who can't resist doing self-destructive things for the instant pleasure that they provide. The saving grace for Trump is that he really doesn't give two craps about the GOP or, really, any of the positions he espouses, so all the damage he is leaving in the wake of his self-indulgent narcissism tour disguised as a political campaign is of no concern to him. Yes, losing will suck, but it's going to be so darn fun until then that, hey, small price to pay... for Trump.

Trump is getting back on track now after listening to GOP lifers/losers.

For a dose of reality--no matter how little tRump's supporters might desire some reality--here is the latest projection from FiveThirtyEight.com:

http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/...ex_cid=rrpromo

For those who doubt the methodology of this website's founding genius (Nate Silver), he "called" the outcome of the 2012 election with such precision that it was almost spooky. By comparison, Karl Rove was so far-off in his projections that he has now been relegated to the realm of the totally irrelevant.

Trump is fighting a good fight.. WE THE PEOPLE heard it.. WE KNOW CORRUPTION .. and it is on both sides of the aisle..

they don't want Trump to clean up the corruption.. Trump is too honest. That is the problem with him to those that are corrupt.

Couldn't rep you again, but this post is spot on. You have captured the narcissistic man-child that is Donald Trump perfectly.

Less easy to understand are the idiots who follow him. Well, then again, I guess the descriptor "idiots" explains that, right?

Only trouble with that is, we know the polls are being manipulated (Pat Cadell and others have exposed this, and explained what they're doing)

His rallies are drawing thousands, while Hillary's are drawing a few hundred or less.

If Trump's audience are "crazies," the majority of Americans are crazy.

The polls are being manipulated in favor of Hillary (Documented)
