Compelling Mexico to Pay for the Wall

LINK TRUMP WEBSITE: https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/pay-for-the-wall

Introduction: The provision of the Patriot Act, Section 326 - the "know your customer" provision, compelling financial institutions to demand identity documents before opening accounts or conducting financial transactions is a fundamental element of the outline below. That section authorized the executive branch to issue detailed regulations on the subject, found at 31 CFR 130.120-121. It's an easy decision for Mexico: make a one-time payment of $5-10 billion to ensure that $24 billion continues to flow into their country year after year. There are several ways to compel Mexico to pay for the wall including the following:

  • On day 1 promulgate a "proposed rule" (regulation) amending 31 CFR 130.121 ...
  • On day 2 Mexico will immediately protest. They receive approximately $24 billion a year i...
  • On day 3 tell Mexico that if the Mexican government will contribute the funds needed...
  • Trade tariffs, or enforcement of existing trade rules:...
  • Cancelling visas: Immigration is a privilege, not a right....
  • Visa fees: Even a small increase in visa fees would pay for the wall...

...We have the moral high ground here, and all the leverage.

It is time we use it in order to Make America Great Again.

Yeah, sure. Had a chance yesterday, but passed it up.

When trump walked in to the meeting yesterday, he was told that Mexico wasn't paying for his lunatic wall. He didn't say anything then, and then kept saying "this hemisphere" when he was still there, at the podium, after the meeting... what a clucking chicken! Was he afraid they would pelt him with rotten eggs if he said what he really thought of them while he was there in person?

redefine "account" to include wire transfers. Also include in the proposed rule a requirement that no alien may wire money outside of the United States unless the alien first provides a document establishing his lawful presence in the United States
So they get one of their friends to wire the money. No law against legal citizens wiring money.

On day 3 tell Mexico that if the Mexican government will contribute the funds needed to the United States to pay for the wall,
And Mexico laughs in his face.

Trade tariffs, or enforcement of existing trade rules:
We raise tariffs, then they do too. Yes, they have the ability to raise tariffs on imports from our country too. The exports from Texas to Mexico would be reduced thus harming the economy of Texas. Then there is the produce imports, prices at the grocery store and restaurants go up and that hurts the average American family.

Quote:
Cancelling visas:
Visa fees:
Both of which would harm the tourism industry in many states. Plus who would clean Trumps hotel rooms (he uses H1B visa workers in his hotels)

So basically he wants to hurt our country by sticking it to them. Good plan.
