No time for the repubs to rally against biden. Biden is a bumbler but exponentially 'cleaner' than HRC. He would be a shoe in for the dems and people on the fence about trump.

Say goodbye to hillary. Even obama is telling her 'don't let the door hit you in........."

Dems in NJ did this exact same switcheroo when their leading candidate ran afoul of the law at the last minute.

I agree...Clinton is Trump's best chance..Biden or even Bernie would be a shoo-in---as most of the country would breath a great sigh of relief.

Tim Kaine would be President...once Obama's term is over. Speaker of the House would be VP.

Swearing in is just a ceremony--Once Electoral College certifies result---Constitutional succession takes effect.

So what would happen? Or should I ask, would it be legal for Obama to do a 3rd term.

Someone said, that he had made mention months ago, that he wouldn't mind a 3rd term and some folks say that Hillary was part of the conspiracy to do so?
If she dropped out now I don't know if they could legally replace her on a ballot unless she died which the DNC could arrange I guess.

What happens if a candidate becomes sick or dies and is no longer able to run? Has this ever happened before?

Only once in history was a VP replaced on the Democrat side. Happened sometime after the Democrats slavery days.

Actually it was 1972, right before the Republican president was impeached for criminal activities.

Also--

"The amendment was passed by Congress in 1947. It was ratified by the states on February 27, 1951. The Twenty-Second Amendment says a person can only be elected to be president two times for a total of eight years. It does make it possible for a person to serve up to ten years as president. This can happen if a person (most likely the Vice-President) takes over for a president who can no longer be president. If this person serves two years or less of the last President’s term, he or she may serve for two full four-year terms. If he or she served more than two years of the last President's term, the new President can serve only one full four-year term."

Correction, when their leading candidate got caught.

Doing that is the sin to Dems not the original infraction.

No, he can't. Obama cannot run in this election, period. Therefore he cannot serve ANY more years as President. Period. This Nov the election happens, with or without Hillary, and the winner becomes our next President. PERIOD.

That provision is in there for a VP that serves as President for 2 years or less - that person would be eligible for two full terms as an elected President, totaling 10 years.
