They are very strong words coming from a former Secretary Of State. He also said Trump takes black people for idiots.
...and where does he get this firsthand knowledge of Trump? Have they worked together or been in communication where this is based on personal interaction, or is this just coming from a typical liberal point of view and someone who voted TWICE for Obama (a pathetic feat in its own right)?

There are multiple players in this particular scene: Clinton, Trump, and Powell himself. Each has sufficient hubris to cancel out the other two.
Powell, who has been involved in some massive governmental screw-ups (WMDs anyone?), has no high moral ground on either Clinton or Trump.
