Please! The headline news this morning was that the whole birther issue was resurrected and Trump refused to say whether he had changed his mind. No mention that it was an interviewer who resurrected it to make that headline, when I recall Trump conceding the issue back in 2012.
Why don't they ask Hillary about her sniper fire comment and then make a headline about that? It's old news resurrected by the DNC Pac (media) to change the subject about Hillary's health issues. Anyone with a brain can see what they're doing here.
And yes, Hillary's people started that rumor back in '08.
Did she ever publicly acknowledge that it was someone from her campaign that started it? She would have gotten points for that, especially after the person was fired. No, she let the movement continue, because she hoped she might get more votes for the primaries.
It took Trump 5 years to acknowledge he's completely full of ***** and you're wondering why Hillary didn't publicly rebuke a staffer 8 years ago after the staffer was fired? Maybe because Hillary didn't want to call more attention to the rumor? Maybe because she didn't want to embarrass the staffer?
The article said her campaign apologized to Obama's campaign. That's all she needed to do.

Where is the campaign's announcement (at the time it was found out) that it was false, it was put out by one of their own, and they were sorry? Gee, could it be that they thought they could still get more primary votes if the rumor stayed out there?

Since he announced his candidacy for the primary, the media has asked if he continued to believe Obama was not born in the US. He could have cleared the air. Instead, he punted.
