“If Hillary Clinton becomes president, I am going to do everything I can do to make sure four years from now, we still got an opening on the Supreme Court.”
— Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC), quoted by CNN.
How many R Senators have made statements like that so far? Burr, Cruz, McCain (although he recanted.)
Long gone are the days when they're are enough moderates in the Senate close to the political center to compromise in order to fill judicial vacancies. It's become political suicide to work at all with the other side.
If Republicans are unable to pack the Supreme Court and other federal court vacancies, the new strategy seems to be to try to destroy it by refusing to confirm any nomination that they do not originate themselves.
Well, all the more reason not to elect Hillary, she'll never be able to get anything done.
If elected, and let's face it, it's looking more likely that she'll be indicted, rather than be elected at this point, she will be facing criminal investigations, and a never ending list of scandals, just like her husband.
In all honesty, do women really want the first woman president to get impeached within weeks, or month of taking office? Heck, at this point, if elected, Hillary may not even make into office before being indicted.
When the Senate goes Democrat next week..all they have to do is change the rule from 2/3rds to simple majority to confirm///the so-called 'nuclear option'///then they can confirm whomever they want..and Clinton proposes.

Not so. A simple majority confirms right now.
If HRC wins and the Senate goes 50-50 Dem-GOP, then her SCOTUS candidate will be confirmed, since Kaine will cast the deciding vote.
Sorry...to clarify...right now...the Repubs could filibuster any nomination...and the Senate needs 60+ votes to end filibuster with cloture--The 'nuclear option' is for one party to change this--by a simple majority rules change...thus allowing the party in the majority to end any filibuster with simple majority vote. Both parties have avoided this..since it takes away one of the major ways a minority party can influence legislation.

Your argument is that republicans are going to obstruct so elect republicans. Lol. Great logic! It's amazing how ignorant those who profess to be patriots are of the Constitution. If republicans keep obstructing, you will not be relevant in the future. You are all so angry about our "disaster" of a country, but you want nothing done. It's mind boggling.
What really is upsetting about these spoiled brat GOP guys is that they forget we are paying their (very good) salaries to go to DC and work for US. They are there to accomplish things, not OBSTRUCT things.
I really have zero respect for the Republican party and, in some way, and happy Trump cleaned their clocks this year. What a bunch of idiots they are !
