I think this is the natural situation with anyone who has been in politics a long time. It's pretty rare to see someone as pure as Bernie Sanders - and in his case, his purity, his refusal to compromise, means he gets less accomplished.

Don't despair. Even though Trump has now won the electoral votes, his lack of character and political experience will doom his administration. I could do without that kind of entertainment. But you will be hearing plenty of him not being "my president" from a growing number of people. Unless the Congressional Republicans seize control from him and run the country in a fair manner for everyone, their party will also be doomed. Let's hope they all realize that this is their last chance. And most of the "baggage" that Clinton brought to the election, was a concoction of the opposition.

Imo the democrats should start grooming a female president because they would have easily won on just the just black / woman platform if Hillary wasn't wildly corrupt. However Trump is also historic as he's the first america-first president in a long time and is not a politician. A non-corrupt democrat female candidate against a typical politician with the same platform as Hillary would have won easily.

There are a lot more guys in the country who would like to a see a first woman president, even if she was mildly qualified, than those who are sexist.

Nikki Haily will be coming to your national ballot soon. She would be far more worthy of the honor than Hillary.
