View Poll Results: Does Clinton's Popular Vote Victory Reduce Trump's Mandate?
YES. Trump's vote count is too low to be a mandate for sweeping change. 70 27.89%
NO. Trump won, and that's reason enough for a mandate for sweeping change. 125 49.80%

Mandates aren't a real thing.

Majority of what? I even gave all the 400,000 other votes to Clinton and Stein.

65,476,006 Trump, Johnson and McMullin

64,308,982 Clinton, Stein and Others

+1,167,024 votes for Trump, Johnson and McMullin = #NeverClinton

Hillary will never close the Electoral vote gap and that is all that matters.

There is no mandate - and the sooner Trump realizes there are 2,000,000 more people who DID NOT vote for him, the better off the country will be.

But he won't, because he isn't aware of, much less cares about, the well-being of most of the people in this country, least of all the poor suckers who voted for him. He's way above that. His lies and ignorant behavior on the campaign trail has revealed to the world what he thinks of the American voter. It was all done to appeal to the ignorant.

To develop the humility necessary to appreciate the awesome responsibility he's been given is beyond his capacity. He's a two-dimensional human, if that.

There wasn't a mandate for GWBush, either - and look what that brought us - to the edge of the abyss.

In my view, a win by EV, will not end well. It didn't before and it won't again.

I am preparing for inflation, war, and an economic collapse - w/govt bailouts for all the rich and powerful - and a further wealth disparity between "them" and "us."

The standard GOP playbook.

How can one have a mandate when they tallied millions of votes less than their opponent?

It's like a baseball game. Hillary's team had the most hits, but Trump had the most runs.

Trump won more states than anybody predicted. Since that is the measure we use to determine who wins, the campaigns are strategies around the electoral votes.

He won despite everybody against him. If the media had coved his campaign fairly, he would have won an even bigger landslide. They threw everything they could out to try and derail his campaign. It's pretty disgusting. Despite all odds (and sabotages by republicans) he still won. That is why it is a mandate.
