... If were a Democratic strategist I would take all the Hillary campaign machinery and retool it for local and state elections. They don't need to win them all, just make them close like what's happening to Darrell Issa. You would see a lot of backing down.
Why in the world would you take the machinery from a campaign that has lost two national elections and couldn't even put Bernie Sanders out?
Given all the advantages that Hillary had, it's got to be one of the most colossal failures to perform in modern American politics.

Will the river of denial ever end for the left?
You're right. I'm an independent who couldn't stomach Trump and I voted for Hillary. It's done. Republicans now wield absolute authority over our nation and probably will for years to come.
Time to move on. There's more to life than rage and politics.

If Howard Dean get his wish it will be a fifty states strategy, you may as well use the political infrastructure that is already there today before all those people get scattered to the winds.
George Bush's falling short in the popular vote in 2000 didn't diminish his mandate as a practical matter, and his electoral vote count was well short of Trump's. Plenty of Americans are understandably disappointed, but Trump won under the rules that have existed throughout American history. He has earned political capital and four years to implement his vision for the country, likely with minimal input from the opposition party given Democrats' inherent disadvantages with the 2018 Senate map and House district lines.
People who don't like the policies that will be implemented by Trump and the Republican Congress are going to have to make it a priority to vote in all upcoming elections. This includes local, state, and congressional contests, as well as the next presidential race even if the candidates aren't a perfect fit for their preferences, or if there are stringent eligibility rules, long lines, limited hours, and inconvenient locations for their polling venues. Otherwise, the United States will effectively be controlled by one party for the foreseeable future. This is the blunt reality that too many Democratic leaning Americans have failed to comprehend.

Howard Who? Is this the guy who also failed to win a national election?
While Hillary spent huge sums of money, I don't think she had much in the way of grassroots support. Her rallies were often just a handful of people, and most of her money came from very large donations. And of course the vote didn't turn out for her. The DEM primary turnout should have been a huge warning for them.

He's they guy who's strategy probably got a very unlikely guy two terms as President of the United States.
The GOP now controls the US Senate, US House, the Presidency, the most governorships and the majority of state governments. At the moment they don't seem to be the party with the worries.
For those of us on the left we have little choice but to watch Republicans turn America into a country of their making.for the last 8 years Republicans have been talking the talk now its time to walk the walk lets see where America is in 4 years.
