View Poll Results: Does Clinton's Popular Vote Victory Reduce Trump's Mandate?
YES. Trump's vote count is too low to be a mandate for sweeping change. 70 27.89%
NO. Trump won, and that's reason enough for a mandate for sweeping change. 125 49.80%
DOESN'T MATTER. The mandate concept is too vague to mean anything. 56 22.31%
Voters: 251. You may not vote on this poll

Trump could not have won California even if he would have campaigned there. The demographics today are very unfavorable to the GOP. I predict that in the future, California will tilt even more overwhelmingly blue than it already is. When Orange County is no longer voting Republican, you know that the party is done in the state.

Oh yeah, they are taking SO many jobs that Americans could have. Like picking fruit and vegetables, lawn maintenance , etc. Hell, we can't even get Americans to do easy jobs, let alone these back breaking, low paying , menial tasks that the illegals are happy to have. I've lived in States that utilize illegal alien labor, and those guys work their tails off under conditions you and I would not accept. Contrary to Trump, not all of them are murderers, rapists, etc. Some are just family people, looking for a better life.

But I digress.

You started a topic where you said that Hillary was going to have a 400 Electoral Vote Blowout leaving Trump with 138. Instead Trump won 306 Electoral votes.

This means, that by your own stated standard, Trump out performed by 121%. Your standard, not mine. It's indeed a blow out; For Trump.

No wonder you only talk about the popular vote now.

You forget that you started a topic here where you told us that Hillary would win with 400 electoral votes leaving Trump with just 138.

Trump outperformed your own standard by 121%. Your words, not mine.

That is a YUGE win.

It's the will of the people who understand the United States Constitution and our election system that counts. We've coddled ignorant people in this country for far too long. Anyone who is truly upset about the "popular" vote is an idiot, we have the electoral college for a good reason and this election proved to us exactly why we have it.

The electoral college system at the very least should be tweaked.

There is no good reason that a Wyoming voter should be worth 3.8 times the vote of a California voter.

PSST! In America we elect a President by the Electoral College, NOT the "popular vote" so they popular vote means absolutely NOTHING.

IF we used the popular vote people would campaign differently.

The "Accidental President"-------that's a great title. I wonder who they could get to play him in the movie? It would probably be categorized as in the "Theatre of the Absurd". To explain for Trump supporters, that's an actual type of satirical comedy that many educated people have encountered.

Yeah, it's a damned shame every state gets at least one Representative (California has 55) and two Senators. What were they thinking back then?

And Trump still won a majority in the rest of the country

I didnt vote for him, nor Clinton, but it's past time you guys suck it up and stop complaining.
