I know this subject is getting beat to death, but I extracted the following from a news editorial which I thought was cogent enough to share:

"While analyzing the stats of the NFL games played through Sunday evening, I discovered something strange. In the contest between the Cowboys and Giants, both teams had identical yardage totals. Yet, instead of ending in a tie, the Giants won!

More troubling is that in seven of the 15 games played, the team that gained fewer yards was declared the winner! If these facts come as a shock or seem unfair, then you are either ignorant of the rules of American football … or a Hillary Clinton supporter.

The aggregate total of votes cast for Clinton in the Presidential election appears to be greater than the aggregate total cast for Trump. Yet, bitter, deluded Democrats have seized upon this irrelevant statistic in hopes of somehow “un-ringing” the election bell or perhaps making Trump’s win seem less legitimate.

Ironically, popular vote is the ONLY metric in which Clinton prevailed, so it is also the only metric emphasized by her supporters. For example, Trump won 30-states to 20 for Clinton. Trump also win approximately 2600 of the nation’s counties, while Clinton won only 500. Further, the geographical ratio of the landmass in which Trump prevailed was equally lop-sided. All of these facts are irrelevant and immaterial to the selection of the 45th President of the United States, which remains 270 electoral votes – another lop-sided 306 to 232 Trump WIN.

Trump won 30 states that equals 306 EC Votes......Hillary won 20 states that equals 235 votes.

This is the same as TEAM A winning 30 games and TEAM B winning 20 games but TEAM B won their games by a wider margin, TEAM A still wins the division and has a better record.

Hillary won California by a blowout by over 4 million votes.....that's like TEAM A winning a game by 50 points, is still 1 win.....just like if TEAM A won by 1 point......California gets 55 electoral, it doesn't matter if a Candidate wins by 4 million votes in the state or by 10 votes, it counts the same.

that's why we have 51 independent elections (51 separate games), 1 for each state and D.C., all independent from each other and one has nothing to do with the other. The votes of all states doesn't get added up in a big pile like one national election....they are all 51 separate independent elections......one candidate can win 1 state by 5 million vote or just by 100 votes and the electorate for that state is the same because each state is sovereign under a Federal Union. Its call federalism, America Civics 101.

Democrats want to give more weight for California because she won by over 4 million votes in the state.....and it doesn't work that way.....that's like giving TEAM A the division because they won 1 game by 50 points but TEAM B has a better record of wins.

if that's the case, all California has to do is keep flowing in immigrants and give them benefits for their votes and California will basically decide the Presidential election forever.

Too bad for the Yanks total runs meant nothing.
The "popular vote" means no more than those total runs.

Too logical. More yards gained, fewer points scored equals a loss. Buh, buh, buh, but....

The left will never get it. They are too busy wanting a rule change, after the final whistle.

Yes good post. The founding fathers were genious...they knew one or 2 most populated states shouldn't determine who wins the election every election. They also created the Senate so each state is fairly represented. The idiots who start online petitions about the popular vote, majority rules lol...are just wasting time. Those 2 million votes Clinton won by are probably in NYC and LA...big cities do not represent the whole country. It will never change The small states like Hawaii and Rhode ISLAND don't want California making all their decisions for them

Same thing with the World Series this year. The Cubs and Indians both scored 27 runs. Why did the Cubs win the World Series? Because they won the most games, not scored the most total runs. Whining about the rules after losing, like liberals are doing, is childish.

The point of the electoral college is so presidential candidates can't completely ignore smaller states, a lesson taught to Hillary this time around but clearly isn't sinking in.

Wow.
The fact that your link is an apparently a Fake News site (its source is Reddit?), and that your major conclusion is based on one Kentucky county, and that you are repeating more Fake News here (put out by a Trump ignorant tweet), pretty much says it all.

Clinton received more votes than any other presidential candidate ever except Obama (wow!!), and if you have proof that it is due to illegal voting, please produce it.

Even Trump has no idea why he tweeted this false comment, as there is no evidence whatsoever that is true.

Truth be told, it's been a year of unlikely winners. The Denver Broncos and Cleveland Cavaliers both prevailed over teams that were more dominant than them up to that point. In the fight biz, Stipe Miocic, Dominick Cruz, Holly Holm, Miesha Tate, Amanda Nunes -- all unlikely new champions in the UFC world. Andre Ward, David Peralta, Andrew Hernandez and others scored somewhat less impressive upsets in boxing, but upsets nonetheless.

I'm not a gambling man, but I could have made some money betting on Trump. If the Cubs can win a world series then Trump winning was nothing.
