Or is it just another way that Florida can eff up another national election for the Democrats?

Consensus nears for mail-in primary in Florida - Los Angeles Times (broken link)
" A consensus began to emerge today that the best way to give Florida's Democrats a voice in electing a candidate for president lies with the U.S. Postal Service."

Default It's absolutely not a good idea!!!

I can already see all of the voter fraud, e.g., duplicate ballots from supporters of both candidates, votes from people who died since the last fake primary was held. Also, what happens to the ballots that are mailed to people who have moved? In these bad economic times, people are being evicted, foreclosed upon, etc. What happens to the ballots that are sent to them at their last known mailing address and they no longer live there? Do you think that the new residents of those homes will return them to the post office? I hate to say it, but I wouldn't. I'd toss it in the trash, believing that it's probably one less vote for the person who I do not want to win. I don't like this mail-in ballot idea one bit.

Why the idea of the do-over anyway? I thought the rules were if you vote early, the votes won't count. Sure the Republicans changed the dates, but the Dems in those states knew that their delegates would not be seated if they voted early. I say too bad. Next time, be more boisterous with your obejctions about the unfair politics of your legislature and take action to ensure that the people who YOU ELECTED don't take steps to disenfranchise you again! And, if you didn't vote in the election(s) that put those reps in office who took the steps to make your votes not count, then you have no basis to whine!

The rules are the rules and everyone knew and agreed to them. End of story.

The problem is that those two states may change the general election results if people think they were cheated out of a choice. The democrats could have done anyhting they wanted including seating the delegates. It is the powers in the party that wanted to preserve the status quo.Maybe this will bring about a one day primary vote where people can vote on all the candidates available and get rid of this crazy system.

What, instead of hanging chads and pregnant chads they'll be hanging and pregnant stamps? Unlicked envelops? Improper return addresses? I'm sure many people in Florida are very intelligent, but seriously? Can these people not just vote like everyone else? Does Florida really have to be the nation's Drama Queen?

The DNC stripped Fla. and Mich. of their delegates after they were warned of the consequences of moving up the dates of their primaries. All the candidates agreed to abide by the decision.

Why the need to change the rules now? It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that Hillary trails now could it?

I think it has more to do with the fact that the voters in Florida and Michigan are disenfranchised and angry. If something isn't done to accommodate them, a good number may vote against the Democratic Party in November.

Paperhouse posted yesterday that if the delegates are seated, that will simply raise the total number of delegates needed for nomination, so it won't solve the current problem. It's the long-standing resentment that the Dem. Party fears. But, hey, they created it themselves -- the Republicans were reasonable about it and simply penalized those two states by making only half of their delegates count. The Dems can never be reasonable like that.
