i'm just curious. it has been brought up that Senator Obama may have a "black agenda". does anyone know what a black agenda is and what it would entail?
No matter where you look at ANY "agenda" ( black/white, straight/gay, old/young -- etc.) you will find only one thing: racism and bias. Neither are something to stive for in my opinion

A "black agenda" is a scare tactic....like "if you don't vote for our candidate you will have a terrorist attack and you will be forced to marry a gay person, give up your guns and god and Christmas and every woman will have an abortion just for fun and we'll be forced to dance naked under a full moon on All Hallow's Eve".

As long as it's warm enough and you are where people can't see you, what's wrong with dancing naked under a full moon on All Hallow's Eve?

I'm guessing it's a scare tactic as well, that involves a bunch of stereotypical images of Obama, bringing watermelon to white house picnics, gold chains, spinning rims on the presidential limo, serving pig feet at state dinners, sagging his pants on a very nice suit, state of the union addresses starting out with, "Yo, Yo, Yo, American People we need to talk binuss."
Since blacks have not created the "black agenda" i'll need a white to confirm exactly what it is, but i think this is a start right?
Reading some of these forums in reference to Obama is hilarious. Sorry, not attempting to offend anyone just pointing out the stupidity of a lot of the racist in relation to a lot of this race based Obama bashing stuff.
On a side note i'm seriously interested in knowing what my agenda is. I guess i never recieved that memo either. Perhaps it just got lost in the mail.
Although if i have to guess the racism will really heat up for him after winning hte nomination and facing McCain for the Presidency, that's when the real racial scare tactics will really kick in.

Beats the hell out of me. Does this mean that all the presidents up until now have had a "white agenda"?
Does Hillary have a "white agenda"? How about McCain?
I think one of my favorite historical facts involves the Tuskeegee Airmen. That group of young men who could not sit in the front of the bus at home, didn't feel sorry for themselves, took all the risks, learned, trained, and became so good at what they did that they never lost an escorted bomber in their responsibility to an enemy fighter.

I think you're on to something, Alexus.
After the United States were formed, 13 of our first Presidents were slave owners. Some of our former presidents, whether truly sincere or because they were maneuvered into it, have promoted racial equality--FDR, JFK and LBJ come to mind.
Does anyone remember the apology the Senate made for filibustering--3 times--Anti-lynching legislation?
Those who shake in outraged indignation at Rev Wright's tirades--get back to me after you Google "lynching postcards."
I am now 53 years old and was still in high school when the last lynching took place--and nooses are still used to intimidate and segregate today.
Black agenda is based on black experience.
I do believe Bill Clinton's administration reached out--successfully--to the black community.

The past few weeks, I have perused the websites of Clinton, McCain and Obama. They have been being tweaked here and there.
Clinton's and Obama's speak much more to my concerns.
"Civil Rights" is the first issue listed in Obama's site.
No doubt this fact might scare some folks.
The problem in my opinion is that while a few white leaders have reached out to the black community, very few, if any national black leaders have reached out to the non-black community. It's let us be black and you must accept our crime, you must accept our need to be cared for by the "masstas", you must accept that if we don't like what you say, we'll yell race, if we don't like a law, then no matter how obvious the guilt is, we'll let the perp off (can you spell O.J.). If you happen to be a landlord of any race, if you don't rent to us, we'll hassle you by calling in Fair Housing, even if you treated us better than we deserved because we don't pay our bills, we don't clean our yards and we do everything we can to destruct everyone but me. We'll throw our families under the bus, we'll call anyone who breaks away from the ghetto and makes good by hard work an traitor, etc.
The black agenda is alive and well, and if nothing else, this presidential election has brought forth the thorns than infect our society.
Why can't we just get along? Well, from where I stand, while there are plenty of uneducated whites who fly racist tones, I see the issues above far more fodder for racism than all the non-black racists can muster at a meeting of the dixie bulls.

The 1st link didn't work. The 2nd link is a blog by an idiot that does not like Obama because he's not an angry Black militant.
Look, don't worry folks. We aren't going to paint the white house black. We aren't going to treat you like 2nd class citizens or mandate any Jermaine Crow laws. We'll still let our kids go to school with yours. Its gonna be ok. Don't be scurred.

I have to agree. The Willie Horton ads will be the equivalent of a kids birthday party compared to what will be in store for Obama should he get the nomination.
