VA is a purple state. The most important aspect of this election is the House of Delegates, which had a large GOP majority; as of this AM it looks almost tied. Many GOP incumbents are out, including long time (over 25 years) Delegate Bob Marshall who was defeated by the first transgender running for Delegate. All of this is a repudiation of trump.

As opposed to how Virginia voted in the Presidential election?

Those were "Southern Democrats" who weren't "Blue", they were socially conservative

IN WA something big happened.

A republican HELD seat, vacated due to the sad death of Andy Hill.(R) (rossi was appointed to fill the remainder and was too afraid to run) was flipped to blue

The repubs put millions into winning. They put up the best most electable candidate they could ever hope to have. asian, pretty , young female... Rs took massive amounts of monies from the petrochemical industries... and still in a district that was R for a long while they lost lost lost.

55% 45% a sound thrashing. and a state flipped to solid blue top to bottom.

Rs wanted to hold WA very badly. they did everything they could to hold the seat. Andy's wife came out and supported the Rs, she wrote last minute letters. they banged on doors they ran a dirty nasty low down fear mongering campaign.
I'm not a republican.

You can't say "it was votes against Trump." Gillespie was not a great candidate. Besides, Trump has only been in office for ten months! Get real.

What do Nazis (as you call them) have to do with Trump? Nothing!

Define, "Trumpism" please.
