Manchin will not face a serious primary. He has a track record of winning in a red state. He might lose, but I think he has the inside track to re-election.

Not true. He's a good man and he is well liked by his constituents. These people need jobs though because the coal mining industry is dead.

He has one Primary challenger (West Virginia has one of the earliest filing deadlines and it was two weeks ago) who isn't well known and not well funded. He is not facing any real Primary threat or challenge.

As others have said , a left wing challenger isn't going to beat Joe Manchin.

And while Justice Democrats have some well funded candidates in the west and northeast, the same is not so in West Virginia.

Justice Democrats also seem to be failing just as Bernie's campaign did , in the context of filing deadlines.

They are lining up candidates but some didn't turn in paperwork in time.

The current (R) governor won as a (D). The current governor is not a (D) or (R) he is a corrupt, egotistical, hypocritical piece of crap.

WV has moved very little from decades ago. If the (D)'s by and large hadn't abandoned the coal miners they would still be winning. Manchin never did that and he will win.

WV will still vote for those who defend the energy workers. Not so much the coal mine owners that saw miners killed under their leadership.

They have almost zero influence in WV. Not good or bad but factual.

I have to disagree that the state has moved little. With that said Manchin is the type of Democrat that can win in the state and at this point is favored, though not safe, however if Blakenship wins the GOP Primary Manchin is safe

Blankenship is spending an incredible amount of money. Justice won as a (D) also and he has little in common with Manchin. Manchin actually has scruples and principles.

If I was a voter on WVA I would vote for Manchin. Like Manchin I was against the crap tax cut bill. I am not against tax cuts but knowingly adding to the deficit and debt is not a good bill.

His challengers theme will be I was for the tax cut bill which is something any (R) would say to get elected. It wouldn't be enough for me to vote against Manchin.

Please, Manchin is a weasel, he says Republican things and do Democratic things... he follows the orders of Schumer who gives him permission to oppose the Democratic plan as long as it doesn’t matter so he can fool WV voters... otherwise he vote exactly as Schumer orders...
